Via Meetings & Conventions Magazine: New Denver hotel Populus will sequester more carbon than the building will emit throughout its lifecycle — ultimately having a net positive impact on climate change. (More like this, please!)

Reservations have opened for the 265-room, sustainability-focused Populus Hotel, which will feature a tree-like design and 3,135 square feet of event space.

EJP Events has some exciting news - we are now managing Landing Gardens venue rentals. This gorgeous private garden on the east side of the Willamette River just 25 minutes from downtown Portland (Oregon for those reading this in another country), has river views, a gazebo, and capacity for up to 100, all outdoors.
Working in Portland events for over 20 years, we know what venues can cost, so we've worked closely with the owners (Oak Grove Garden Club , a wonderful nonprofit) to help them create a sales program that will allow the gardens to have the level of maintenance this historic site deserves, while still being an affordable, flexible, and competitively-priced option.

♥️We were absolutely spoiled on by the crew! The team and a host of other event planners and designers were invited to Hotel Eastlund’s Cosmopolitan Ballroom to enjoy (swipe to see all):

-a postcard station by so we could write to our favorite Galentine (This was my favorite part!)

Happy Lunar New Year and Year of the Dragon! 🐉 As we embrace the energy and excitement of this celebratory time, we can't help but be reminded of Holly and Nikhel's incredible wedding. Their journey was a true fusion of cultures and traditions.

The festivities began with two days of joyous Hindu traditions planned by Dhillon Decor, filled with vibrant colors, meaningful rituals, and blessings from loved ones. It was a beautiful testament to Nikhel’s heritage.

But the adventure didn't stop there! Holly and Nikhel then embarked on a Saturday “Big Day” with a church wedding in NE Portland, followed by a wedding reception with iu Mien and Indian touches, at Crowne Plaza Portland. Multiple cultures intertwined with Holly and Nikhel's love story.

We can't thank Holly and Nikhel enough for allowing us to be part of their incredible journey. Their wedding was a true celebration of love, culture, and the power of bringing people together. We're honored to have played a role in creating these everlasting memories.

Earlier this year we had the opportunity to return to Japan, visiting Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. It was a great trip, especially since we got to see the sakura (cherry trees) in bloom! Read more about this trip over on the blog (link in profile.)
We're excited to bring another group over to Tokyo this December, where they'll get to do everything from shopping on Omotesando Cat St. to a dinner river cruise. And remember that we're here to help if you'd like to hold a meeting, conference, or event in Japan!

We managed to sneak out during the summer event season to Minneapolis, one of my fave cities, to attend Connect Marketplace! It was great meeting with other event planners and venue leaders. I made sure I stayed hydrated in the Midwestern heat (Pro Tip: Bring your own insulated water bottle and fill it with ice!) and caffeinated, in this case a latte with my face on it!

We recently traveled to Asbury Park, New Jersey where we planned a corporate retreat for an international tech association. It’s such a cute town and also home to a historic boardwalk and convention hall, as well as The Stone Pony bar where rock legends like Bruce Springsteen started their climb to fame. The location is only 45 minutes from Newark airport and also connected by train to NYC via NJ Transit. We love a walkable destination!
