🚀OFFICIAL LAUNCH✨Foxy Dance Instructional Video✨
Learn your first dance in the comfort of your own home - with me!
This video will teach you the foxy - currently the hottest dance step in the wedding world. It goes with most songs and is honestly as easy as walking. Great for your parents or anyone wanting to learn some basic skills on the dance floor to feel confident dancing at receptions and more!
This video will teach you:
💫The foxy basic
💫The foxy pivot/quarter turn step
💫Two different turn (spin) steps (one in the foxy step and one where you can easily slide right back into the foxy basic)
💫Pretzel dip for the end of your dance
💫How to do your “end of the aisle” dip with bouquet in hand after you say “I do” at your ceremony.
It also comes with a list of 40 first dance songs that go with this step. Mostly alternative, this is a LGBTQIA2S+ friendly playlist that also features many songs from real couples I’ve worked with in the past.
In addition to all this, you will be simultaneously supporting a great cause. 10% of each sale goes directly to @u.kan.du , a local Portland non-profit who brings joy, hope and connection to communities impacted by childhood and adolescent cancer. The perfect gift for any loved one in your life and a “one and done” tutorial for anyone planning a wedding. My FIRST EVER dance instructional video is making its debut online TOMORROW, 2/20! Excited about it🤗And I’ll tell you what- I was super nervous about getting in front of the camera because it’s totally out of my comfort zone but I did it because I really felt like this video was the missing piece PNW Wedding Dance needed (and something many of you said you wanted and looked for elsewhere online but couldn’t find). I promise you this step (the foxy) is as easy as walking and goes with almost every song out there. Great for people of all ages to learn and no previous dance experience required. Stay at home and have fun with your partner as you gain some skills (dips & turns too!) to rock the dance floors all summer long 💪🏽✨Oh! And a portion of each video sale will go to @u.kan.du so you’ll be helping to support a good cause too.The biggest shoutout/thank you to Jake & Callie for taking time out of their busy lives to make this video with me! And to @linedancingwithkat for all the videography, editing and advice. And always grateful to Diana @s1dance for your unwavering support and letting me teach in your beautiful studio🫶🏼😊Dress: @brides_for_a_cause
Wait til the end for the🎆 While the majority of my summer couples choose to get married somewhere locally, that number dips significantly with my winter couples as nearly half seek warmth and adventure during these cooler, darker months. And Mexico, being so close, is always a client favorite. Jackson & Genny were wed in Mexico City in December and danced to “Steady As We Go” by Dave Matthews Band. We started lessons only a few weeks before their departure so we edited their song down so their dance was attainable and stress free. As an international studies major and someone who chose to get married abroad myself (Thailand😍🙌🏼) I’m a sucker for these destination weddings and travel loving couples. #firstdance #fireworks #justmarried
Fun fact: Only one person in this video had previous dance experience before our lessons. Can you guess who it is? Which dip is your favorite? 1, 2, 3 or 4?#firstdance #whenidipyoudipwedip #letsfallinlove
Happy New Year!🎉 NEW on the blog: Why I was confident I scared Erin off during our first phone call due to her & Elias’ #firstdance song choice, which was from one of my favorite movies growing up. Empire Records…anyone?! 🎶🤘🏽

It’s hard for me to believe that Sara & Ruth aren’t on my feed yet. Fixing that now. From the moment these two walked in the studio door they were electric, ready to go all in and to be completely honest with their dancing and each other. Their playful natures made lessons full of spontaneity which lead to authentic outcomes. This sassy tango was sprinkled with so many curated moments to show off Ruth & Sara’s individual strengths and magnetic personalities. I loved working with them so much but I think the most touching moment of all was getting a video of them dancing their dance during sunset on their honeymoon in the Maldives (check my IG stories for a peek👀). When you genuinely love your dance and just can’t stop doing it post wedding I feel like…goal achieved❤️

Pro tip: get close! Touch noses or foreheads during various moments of your first dance to create more intimacy and connection, for both you and your fiance and your guests watching🥰
And to my couples featured in this video, I love reminiscing and miss dancing with you!🫶🏼
A gentle reminder to take care of yourselves and the ones you love. First dance lessons give you a reason for date nights and can add chemistry to your relationship. Big congratulations to this very special couple, Erin & Elias, who were wed today✨🥹🤍Practice location: Chapman Elementary ~ Portland, OR👰🏼♀️ @erynshmeh🤵🏻♂️@eliasfrantz52895
Starr & David got married last Saturday at @arrowheadgolf and I’ve been excited to show you some of their fun practice bits from their surprise first dance🤩They learned a waltz to “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims and man did I LOVE this song!! Put two new tricks on this couple that I’d never put on anyone before (the first “over the back” clip and last “side dip and flip” video). One word for these two: SWOON. David took charge as the lead and they brought the 🔥HEAT🔥to this routine. Neither one had previous dance experience before this and I was in awe of how quickly they mastered everything I gave them. They’re currently honeymooning in Hawaii right now, hopefully relaxing on the beach and having the time of their lives! Give it up for these two beautiful humans. I see more dancing in their future, don’t you? 🔮👀😍
