Now that we're past the "on metal ladders hanging giant wreaths in the freezing cold" part of the season, let's begin the holiday parade!

Chris always gives us so much trust. This year we went for a maximal design with a minimal palette. Just two materials, magnolia leaves and fantail willow branches.

I love love love the sculptural form that we created, and I also really love that it stands up! Getting the branch armature together was one of those "wrestling an octopus" moments.

Flower orders for the holiday are due by the end of the business day on Tuesday. Get them in before it's too late!

This is our biggest year for holiday decorating yet. This time of year is special to us because we work directly with our local small business pals. Yes we love our wedding clients, but it's different when you are collaborating within the community.

We've been in holiday decorating mode since November 6 and, wow, am I glad that I'm at the shop hanging out with the plants and not outside on a cold metal ladder hanging wreaths today 🎄

This was one of those weeks where it took teamwork to make the dream work. We had two big floral events plus all of our weekly clients, and it's great to see the studio humming with activity. Saturday's wedding was all about sculptural forms, rich color, and playful texture. @oliviaswestfall showed up ready to collaborate, and I appreciated her desire to go bold. We paired rubbery tropicals like anthurium, orchid, calla lily, calathea, and alocasia, with softer locally grown amaranth, dahlia, delphinium, smoke bush, eucalyptus, talinium, and poke weed. Deep teal taper candles and gray oyster mushrooms finished off the tablescapes. To me, this wedding felt very #portlandmaine. The ceremony was at Top of the World park overlooking downtown and the back cove. @covestreetarts is a beautiful venue for this kind of event, and I was thrilled to find the artwork matched our flowers perfectly. This all couldn't have happened without my team this week: @bethanyhc @coco.bustin @apnurir & Lou 💚💚💚 they kept things moving along as I hobbled my way through with a strained calf muscle. Grateful for the care they showed the events and me along the way. This project really stretched my organizational prowess. Big thanks to my suppliers @directflowers2florist @chevaughnmariedesigns @maineflowercollective @carolyn.snell @petalsfarmgarden @mousam_valley_mushrooms @broadway_gardens @elgreen_orchid_boston_at_nefe. And quite frankly, thank you Google Sheets. I would be nothing without my spreadsheets. The @ryanwritesonthings and @rachelgloriaia mural is a treat to have just up the block and I loooovvvveeee how the bridal bouquet plays against it. #plantofficewedding #mainewedding #portlandmainewedding

Bunching local eucalyptus has me smelling good and feeling sticky. We have some fresh bunches on the floor and dried bunches are hitting the floor today. See you at the Office 🌲🏢
