We spent the prettiest morning setting up this installation for the St George’s school graduation ceremony. My daughter came along and filled my water picks, reflexes roses, keeps me company, and participates in the design process. I love these projects where she gets to come along. It’s the best mother/ daughter date!

Our last big wedding of 2023 was this lush, colorful stunner in Northern Idaho. This family has invited our team into their lives twice this year, and I’m immensely grateful. It isn’t often you are gifted so much trust, and that is something we do not take lightly.
The family property is nestled comfortably at the base of Schweitzer mountain. The guests entered through a winding, forest path lit by bistro lights, and entered into the property where they were greeted with a map. After the beautiful garden ceremony, the guests were encouraged to find their signature cocktail while exploring the beautiful gardens and visiting with one another. Flowers were everywhere- from edible blossoms finishing the cocktails, to gracing the signage.
Amanda initially brought just a couple photos of gold disco balls and deep, fall colored florals. From there, @bloomingeventdesign and myself dreamed up this beautiful vining installation of vines and disco balls, keeping the color on the tables.
It was a stunning day- with just enough rain for good luck.

The final accessory: the bridal bouquet.
I’ve been designing flowers long enough to see trends come and go- from large bouquets, petite bouquets, tight round bouquets, wild bouquets, long stemmed bouquets, cascading bouquets…. I love them all. I prefer to approach the bouquet as an extension of the wedding, always considering my bride.
I’m thinking through her size, gown, personality, and the formality of her dream wedding.
Before I begin to design, I’ll step away from the studio (or come back refreshed after a night of sleep). I rarely have to take a bouquet apart after I’ve started it. If I’m keeping my bride front and center in my mind, the first bouquet is usually perfect for her. I’ll also use any photos of my bride in her gown as a reference.
I love designing the bouquet. It’s the finishing touch and the most seen arrangement. It will likely live in a special photo in their home forever, and is the final layer of decor that represents the entire wedding.
Flowers are special like that. They may be the finishing layer of decor, but they tie everything together and bring an event to life.

Tips for designing this aisle you all adore:
1. The water picks pound into the grass better if it has soft soil. Use a rubber hammer. The picks also came out of the grass with less damage this way.
2. If water picks don’t insert easily, take a battery powered drill to help make the holes
3. This design used approximately 10 full stems per chair which we extended into the path as well.
3. Cut some flowers short and insert at varying heights for maximum effect.
4. We added bear grass at the end to provide a bit more movement.

Beautiful girls with beautiful flowers, in beautiful dresses 😍 In this styled shoot with @honestinivory @itsgldn and @sageandscarletphotography I focused on playing with wearable flowers and hanging floral installations- damage free and foam free- on anything. It was so fun, and these wearable floral tattoos are still some of my favorites! Also- the bridal shop was able to keep the installation and let it dry- it was beautiful for months and worth the investment.

When she says “lemons and Italian villa themed”. I loved the initial idea the freedom to run with it.
Mock orange, lemons, viburnum, and the prettiest greenery and lemons garland ever!
Arbor Crest in late summer is a dream. I love using all that the autumn has to offer- the flowers are hardier, the foliages are just beginning to change, and texture is all around.
We incorporated fresh fruits and black grapes, pink Himalayan salt in low plates, and black and blush pillar candles to further incorporate the colors.
@vanessanoelevents was a genius and made every detail unique and intentional. This winery wedding had such a warm, welcoming ambiance. The velvet linen offered a cozy warmth and depth of color, and the wood farm tables and stone floor nodded to the beautiful architecture of the venue. It was a beautiful day with gorgeous elements everywhere.

Edible flower shortbread:
In honor of Great Grandma Norma
1lb butter
4 cups all purpose flour
1 cup powdered sugar
Generous pinch of salt
Mix together till a dough forms. Press into a cookie sheet.
Score the shape of your cookies (I like diamonds), or cut into cookie shapes.
Brush with cool water to help the flowers stick.
Place and style your flowers and petals on each cookie as desired.
Use plastic wrap to press the flowers in firmly. Freeze the sheet of dough for a few hours or overnight. This helps the flowers not burn.
Bake at 325 degrees for 20-30 minutes, or till the edges are slightly brown. Cool, slice, and enjoy!
To prep your flowers:
Gently rinse the flowers and pat to dry. Make sure you use only edible flowers!
Favorite edible flowers:
Clover, alfalfa blossoms, nasturtiums, chamomile, feverfew, violets and pansies, bachelor buttons, lilacs, rose petals, herbs for greenery, catmint, lavender, marigolds!
