We feel that it is safest due to the current situation surrounding Covid-19.

Update time!

1. Working Hands Beer/ Slopeswell Cider Co. will be closed this weekend, Fri-Sun (but find them down at 2021 Hood River Hops Fest Saturday).
2. 2021 Hood River Hops Fest is Saturday 12-8 p.m. Kids OK until 6 p.m. We're trying to get a list of food vendors for y'all. We'll keep you updated on that.
3. Over in the Dalles, the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum is hosting a beer and birds night with Pfriem on October 21. Tickets are $22 and come with a complimentary beer. It's an after-hours 21+ only event. See the flyer attached to this post for more info. We'll be there, will you?
4. Pine Street Bakery is one of the lucky eateries in the Gorge that managed to snag a bunch of new staff. Heads up that coffee/food might be slower than normal, they say, but we haven't noticed a change at all and are excited for them and their new staff.
5. Like fancy food with wine pairings? Good news, Hood River Common House is hosting a special dinner on Sunday, Nov 7 at 6:30 p.m with a menu from Spaghetti Western Co. Tickets are $85 w/out wine and $115 with wine. They're also hosting dinner on Nov 6, but tickets for that are sold out, so if you want to go Sunday, get yo tickets ASAP.
6. Trillium Cafe wants you to know they're back and partying 7 days a week. Tots and shots y'all.
7. Full Sail Brewing Company has added a seasonal sandwich to its menu: Grilled marinated Portobello mushroom with smoked mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, red onion, on a toasted ciabatta roll.
8. Over in Cascade Locks, the new Gorges Beer Co. is dabbling in brunch, so get your bloody Mary on this Saturday and Sunday, starting at 10 a.m.
9. Speaking of Hops Fest, the Hood River Farmers' Market will be operating our of the Columbia Gorge News - Hood River News parking lot this weekend, instead of its normal location across from Full Sail, since Hops Fest will be taking over that lot.
10. The special this weekend at Grasslands Barbecue is pork nachos: Juanitas tortilla chips smothered in queso, pickles jalapeños, smoked cotija, cilantro and crispy fried pulled pork. Last time Grasslands had nachos, they sold out hella quick, so if you have your mind on nachos, head over early!
11. Y'all know this but it's harvest season. Head to all the local orchards for fresh apples and pears.
12. Pixan is closed until October 4. They say there will be a new menu when they re-open.
