We are so excited to welcome Matt Roby to our team 🤩 Coach Matt joins our academy as the new Executive Director and will oversee soccer and business operations. In addition to a lifetime of playing soccer, he has spent the last decade coaching, most recently for 7 years as an assistant coach for the Grandview Heights High School boys’ team. The bobcats won back-to-back state titles in 2021 & 2022, reached four state semifinals, and won 6 district titles in his time there.

His favorite part about coaching children is watching them progress throughout the session & fall in love with the game of soccer, and seeing their true personalities come out while playing.

Outside of soccer, you can find Matt exploring Columbus with his wife Sarah & children Palmer(4) and Weston (2). They love visiting parks, farmers markets and finding new outdoor activities. He is an avid runner and has run 4 marathons and 2 ultra-marathons in the past 3 years.

Unlike many youth soccer clubs, Locker Soccer Academy doesn’t hold traditional tryouts for our younger age groups. Instead, we believe in a more holistic approach that focuses on observing each child’s skills and potential within the context of our programs and classes.
