2023 End of Year
As we bid farewell to 2023, the past 8 days of this year has been a challenge. My first Christmas I have ever experienced incredibly sick and essentially useless up until yesterday. I'm nowhere near 100% as my energy isn't at all what it usually is. This is typically the time of year when I finally stop to put my camera down, really enjoy spending quality time with my family, and get some much needed editing time in. I wasn't able to do any of that this year.
It's a fitting way to end this year I suppose. Forced to just simply exist and focus on getting my legs back underneath me. I go pretty hard throughout a year without ever taking any time to embrace life outside of work. Now that my kids are older and super involved with school and deep within their own passions in life the year becomes a juggling act. The older I get, the more taxing it becomes on both my mind and my body.
With that as we step into 2024 I find inspiration in this beautiful Robert Greene quote:
"You don't want to abandon the skills and experience you have gained, but to find a new way to apply them. Your eye is on the future, not the past. Often such creative readjustments lead to a superior path for us- we are shaken out of our complacency and forced to reassess where we are headed."

The Hollon Wedding
The Hollon Wedding teaser vid is absolutely magnificent. I try not to have any expectactions before the wedding day (photos + video), but for some reason in my head I completely envisioned something quite different of an edit than how this turned out. I'm always a little mind blown when I finish these because each one is so different from the other. Handling photography and videography for a wedding day is really something else, the time, effort, and energy put into these is a lot....basically for me I can wipe an entire week off the calendar for each one. So looking forward to a beautiful break that I have coming up, it's going to be amazing to slow down and focus on final edits again. I'm so in love with this video though of Gracie and Rhett, and I sincerely hope they love it as much as I do. It's beyond my wildest expectations, so thankful for my beautiful crew that is in the wedding foxhole with me🧡

The Rogers Wedding Teaser
Stepping into yet another wedding day weekend (photography only), and once again I'll be soaking up some rays on the lake. While it's always really busy, this month has had me on a whole other level of busy. It's been insane, and that's putting it mildly.
Couldn't move on to the next wedding day without unveiling Melody + Michael's gorgeous wedding teaser from last weekend. A weekend that ended our string of beautiful wedding day weather I've been on for 2022. It certainly didn't stop our string of creating beautiful wedding day videos.
I totally hate being away from the family during these wedding day trips out of town, but it's always good to get away with the team to bond. Being a wedding day photographer + videographer isn't the most glamourous of jobs out there. The drive back to P'ville in some of the most intense fog I've ever driven through at night on 82 west was interesting. Only to get back to the studio to unload and literally feeling like you have to peel yourself out of your vehicle. The three days of constant charging and prep work before we leave. The friday before of travel, wedding details, and b-roll filming into the evening. Then the whole day on that Saturday. To feel like you've been hit by a truck on Sunday. Then recovery begins that following Monday trying to catch up on everything you missed the previous 5 days you've dedicated to this couple and family for this one day that can never be replicated.
It's brutal. Mentally + Physically. Not to mention the catching up on past final edits, the day to day grind, trying to live a somewhat normal life with your family. Seeing this though and the warmth it brings makes it all worth it. It truly is beautiful to watch🧡
