After 14 years of doing this DJ thing, I find being ‘part of the party’ as a guest uncomfortable. I literally don’t know how to relax. I’m conditioned to be constantly observing people and their genuine comfort. My ability to disconnect as a service provider is nonexistent.

Being in “observer and facilitator” mode, I’ve trained myself to read rooms, anticipate problems, fill gaps, and create fun or good experiences for others instinctively, which makes “just being” at an event feel weird , even a little anxiety-inducing.

Put simply, I get enjoyment from making others happy. Anything else feels foreign to me.

You don’t just do hospitality …you are hospitality. ❤️

EDIT: This isn’t about judging other entertainment or being overly critical. It’s about the lack of ability to disconnect and be in the moment as a guest without feeling anxious and awkward.

If you’ve been out with me to an event, club or bar with entertainment going on you know exactly what I’m talking about it. 😉😂
