Its demands are physical, mental, pressing your creativity to stretch beyond your own threshold, and yet it can be so rewarding! Our rewards? Please join us in recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30th. Although this is a day recognized in Canada we feel its importance supersedes borders since residential schools existed in the USA as well. This day honors Indigenous children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools. Over 130 residential schools operated in Canada between 1831 and 1996. An estimated 150,000 children aged 4-16 years old were forced to attend residential school. {In the USA, there were more than 523 government-funded, and often church-run, Indian Boarding schools across the U.S. in the 19th and 20th centuries.} On September 30th, wear orange to support reconciliation. For as long as we’ve been in business we have not sold one balloon and will continue not to. They end up in the ocean, in farmer’s fields, in the stomachs of wildlife, and so on. They are fun but please dispose of properly!
