Here’s a behind the scenes of how I process every single fresh flower. There’s more that goes on than just putting some flowers in a vase. I put a lot of love, care, energy and time into every design and especially this part. I have to make sure I process each stem to make sure it’s healthy and of great quality. I clean off all the leaves (some ppl keep some on) especially any that will be touching the water they will be staying in. If left, it will build up bacteria and contaminating the water, which will eventually kill the flowers. For roses I also remove the thorns no one wants to be pricked. And lastly, I give each stem an angled cut. The stem closes up within minutes of being outside of water so without a cut it won’t drink the water. Then you have to store them in a cooler/fridge.
