A new law expanding New York’s Slow Down/Move Over requirement takes effect on March 27, 2024. The expansion includes disabled vehicles on the roadside requiring drivers to exercise caution when approaching them in an effort to protect motorists. Read more: https://bit.ly/49lR1jy

Reminder to all motorists in and visiting NY. Slow Down Move Over law has been expanded to ANY vehicle on the side of the road. If you're traveling on one of our roads and observe a disabled vehicle. It is important to stress that this pertains to ANY vehicle, previously it was any emergency or assistance vehicle with lights.
So please for your safety and others, slow down and move over.
