Imagine coming up the elevator of Raleigh’s Historic Capital Club Building and walking directly into The Grand Ballroom, restored in all its original glory. Simpson designed steel-framed building was constructed by The Capital Club, a prominent Raleigh men's social organization, in the tradition of the Chicago skyscrapers of its era. Pairing classical form with Art Deco accents, the building vis
ually expresses the propriety and high hopes of the 1920’s. It underwent a thorough restoration in 1992 and has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since December 5, 1985. Chartered in 1885 and opened atop the Historic Capital Club Building in 1930, the Capital Club’s Grand Ballroom was the hub of Raleigh’s political, financial, and social life for many decades. It now showcases its original hardwood floors, 14+ foot ceilings and art deco moldings as they were in 1930. The result: an historic, stunning and elegantly beautiful penthouse floor with panoramic views of downtown Raleigh and beyond. With its open floor plan and adjoining boardrooms, The Grand Ballroom is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing. Operated by Historic Venues, LLC, this unique venue can be transformed to meet the needs of nearly any event and ensure that it is one to remember. The Grand Ballroom can accommodate events ranging from private boardroom meetings to larger receptions, dinners, parties, fundraisers and weddings for up to 150 guests. Let The Grand Ballroom serve as the iconic location for your important event. Situated in the heart of downtown Raleigh on the twelfth floor of the Historic Capital Club Building, The Grand Ballroom is the perfect location for meetings, presentations, corporate events, holiday parties, weddings, receptions, fundraisers, anniversary parties and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs.
