My favorite part of deep-diving into the Wicked movie’s design process is hearing where the creative inspiration truly comes from. I was recently listening to an interview with about their stunning costumes and was happily surprised to hear that the underside of mushrooms inspired Elphaba’s hat and dress! 🍄
Why? Because I was intuitively drawn to that exact element when creating my own Elphaba design! I love that connection. It feels like Elphaba’s spirit guided the vision. (swipe to see how I hydro-dipped mine)
My design focuses on her connection to nature, using elements like poppy pods, broom corn and assorted grasses, and fantail willow. 🍃

Consider this your official warning: My floral studio has been taken over by paper mache! 🤣 After presenting on sustainable displays using studio scraps at the State Floral Convention this summer, I’ve become completely enamored. If you see me carrying a carton of what some presume is trash, mind your business. Everything is getting the paper mache treatment!

Today is Colorado’s 14th birthday and I am so thankful that we have been so lucky to get so much time with her. She is the best dog you could imagine, so laid back and the coolest companion for Max. Today is the last day of at and it’s always bittersweet. I hope everyone that wanted to visit was able to and that you had the best time. I am so proud of my team and thankful that they are willing to get behind my crazy ideas. The support that they give and that my family gives is the only way that this can happen. Especially this year as my physical abilities were medically restricted. Thank you as well to the other participating designers who awarded us with the ribbon. It’s an honor to be recognized by peers who understand what it takes to pull off this event. I should also thank for the wonderful inspiration! I hope we brought Ogromna to life in a new way for you.
