It’s Friday and since y’all usually like introductions, I figured my bday was a good day to say hey.

I’m Lauren. Lead planner and owner of Lauren O & Co. I love a good party, a well designed tablescape and logistics. I’ve been planning weddings for 13 years. I’m married to the best man on the planet, Sean. And I’m helping him raise his kids, Evan & Maia. 😂 I’m case you can’t tell I’m also a part-time comedian and available for hire.

My very first job was as a window fashions specialist at Sears. I’m still not sure why they thought a 16yr old would know anything about window fashions. 😂. But I was young and eager to learn.

While I did learn a ton about fabrics, measurements and design, the thing that was emphasized and stuck with me the most was - be of service.

I’m dating myself but if you ever had the pleasure of shopping at Sears, you know their service was top notch. We were trained to listen, to be thoughtful and to anticipate a customer’s need so that we could meet it.

In this business, service is what sets Lauren O & Co. apart. We book a limited number of full service clients each year (15 to be exact) so that we can be hands on and provide each of our clients the level of care and service they deserve. If that means designing your wedding website or handling your RSVPs is a pain point for you - we are happy to take it on.

We don’t believe that you should sacrifice your quality of life to plan your wedding. Instead, we want to be of service to you and help make this process as painless as possible.

I love to entertain. That should come as no shock since I’m a wedding planner. 😉

When I’m planning events I’m not just thinking about how it looks but the overall guest experience.

That’s what sets your wedding apart - a memorable guest experience. As we’re working on design I listen to everything you tell me and I’m thinking of ways to elevate the overall experience.

Remembering your family is originally from Nigeria, so finding ways to incorporate traditional foods into your menu. Listening to you when you say your Mom is struggling with her mobility so considering how far she will need to walk from the parking lot. Remembering that Dad loves coffee after dinner, so making sure we bring him a fresh cup as the last course is wrapping up. Or remembering that your family hails from Louisiana so naturally we need to have a seafood boil at your welcome party!

As you’re thinking of your wedding day, remember that the experience goes beyond design. People appreciate the small things.

Believe it or not, I’m not a Valentine’s Day girl. I love all the pink and the sweet treats but I buy myself (and send my husband links so he can buy me) gifts all year. 😂

As our 2023 season comes to a close I’m reflecting and feeling extremely grateful for my team, Ronda and Sydney. While most of our clients get to know me throughout the planning process, no wedding day would function without them.

They’re the ones fluffing and ironing the linen. Measuring the distance between the charger plate and the edge of the table. Problem solving the many day of challenges that come up and making sure I have my mandatory wedding day ginger ale.

They know the so well that I don’t even need to tell them what’s next on the timeline. Although the business is named after me, we’re a team. So cheers to them! Now, let’s rock 2024!

I know that sounds controversial but the reality is your wedding day should be a reflection of you as a couple. Not the wedding your cousin had five years ago or the wedding your sister has been dreaming of for you.

V’s bridal crew was amazing to work with. Supportive, timely and ready for our direction throughout the day. You could feel their joy for her and J.

Yesterday in my stories I shared ways to make sure your getting ready experience is an enjoyable one.

In case you missed it. The tips were:

Limit social media. Bridal parties that spend the entire morning trying to capture BTS footage often leads to delays and missed opportunities to support the bride. If you must have BTS footage, recruit a friend NOT in the wedding party to capture it or hire a wedding content creator!

Give the bride some space. While all venues don’t allow for a private space for the bride try to find moments where she can relax and be alone or just with her beauty team so she can soak in the day.

Be mindful of scheduling pre-wedding events. Consider having the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Thursday. Use Friday to tie up and loose ends and rest and relaxation.

I’m on the fence about actually seeing the movie but I am loving all things pink influenced by the Barbie movie.

Y’all. I just spent the last hour trying to make my post a reel. Then I couldn’t figure out how to add words to only one of the photos and a voiceover to the other. Then I got hungry and gave up. And so now, you get this one photo for my intro. Because ain’t nobody got time for all that.

So, hey! I’m Lauren. The owner of this awesome (humble brag) wedding planning business based in Raleigh, NC and planning weddings wherever the money resides. 😂

I like leopard print, 90’s music, reality tv and cupcakes. Yesterday I convinced my kids and Sean to let me snuggle cupcakes and iced coffee into the movies. We saw Jurassic World Dominion. Adulting hard over here!
