People always ask where I start with design—and the truth is, I start with the vibe. What are we trying to say with this event? Do we want to foster connection? Then maybe it’s long tables and family-style dining. Do we want guests to feel a sense of awe? Then we bring in texture, layers, dimension—elements that make the space feel rich and immersive. Do we want them to have fun? Then color, playful materials, and a few unexpected moments are key.

Texture is what brings a design to life. Velvet linens, sculpted paper, layered china, and just the right amount of shimmer made this whole look feel rich and intentional. We wanted every detail to feel touchable, dimensional, and a little unexpected.

The serpentine table shape created such a fun flow and let the design breathe. We echoed that movement in the menus, the florals, even the glassware. And the palette? Warm terracotta, soft blush, and hits of golden hour tones that played so beautifully in the light. It’s a reminder that when you lean into shape and texture, you don’t need over-the-top decor—just thoughtful layers that do the talking.
