Just so many pretty colors in today's bouquets! Some from my garden, some from friends' gardens.
The blooms seem to be a bit behind what we usually have this time of year. It's been a very tricky spring, some things bloomed early and now other flowers are behind schedule. Being a flower farmer requires flexibility and taking things as they come.
We're all very grateful for the rain this week. Everything looks revived and rejuvenated! 🤩

The latest treasures in the gardens...
🌸Peony "Sarah Bernhardt", isn't she a beauty!? A new one for me and I wish I had a lot more of this variety.
🏵️ I'm not a big fan of bearded iris, but "Mango Entree" is unique enough to earn it's space in the garden!
🪲I found these babies on the boxwood today. Praying Mantis are very welcome in my garden.

Let's just take a moment and enjoy these bright colors. The deep red leafy filler in the bouquets is Mahogany Splendor hibiscus, grown specifically for it's foliage. It sure does add a lovely autumn touch to the flowers! 🍁

🌧️ The lack of rain is definitely taking its toll on the late summer garden. And I'm regretting 🤦‍♀️ my decision to forego setting up the irrigation lines this spring. Lesson learned!

🍂 My bouquet season will be ending earlier this year than I would prefer, for various reasons. Although, I will gladly fill any special orders as long as I can!

The frost came for the dahlias this morning. 🥀 Till next summer, adieu, farewell, so long, goodbye! 🍁There's already lots of planning for next year going on behind the scenes. Seeds are ordered, beds are getting prepped, ranunculus are sprouting... 🍂We're not sure what the coming year holds, for the flower business, but always, there will be flowers. We played with dried flowers today. Not my favorite thing to do, but I think they turned out sweet. And they'll last longer than a fresh bouquet, right? Happy fall! Thanks to my DIL @lily_eberly for her creative contribution to this project!
