A message from Mas Taco Catering:

Some of you in the community have heard (but most probably haven't) that our daughter has been accepted to a performing arts high school in Michigan which she will start in the fall. Our family will be moving there in August and Mike will be back and forth through September to finish out our catering season. We are not taking any more events. After September our business here in Montana will be closed. We hope to see you again in four years!

Thank you all for the support you've given us throughout the last 12 years with the restaurant, the catering, and the products purchased from the Beartooth Market.

Enchiladas are coming this week! Pre-order between now and Friday, April 26th by noon. Pick up is Saturday by 3pm. Choose braised chicken or pork/Choose green tomatillo sauce or red guajillo chile sauce. $59 per tray/each tray holds 22 enchiladas. Requests can me made in comment section, messenger, email ([email protected]), text (310-871-9804) or call (406-446-3636). Payment can be made at pickup via cash, check or Venmo- Thank you!

We had an event cancellation this week so we're offering a limited number of Rajas/Green enchilada trays and a limited number of Pibil (pork) enchilada trays with either Green or Red Sauce. Pick up Friday after 12 noon. First come first served. Probably 8 pans total available....perfect for AFC/NFC Championship weekend!

We're adding 2 new varieties. You pick Red or Green Sauce and then choose 1 of 5 different fillings: Braised Chicken - $59; Yucatan Pork - $59; Rajas (veg) - $59; Shrimp Mojo de Ajo - $74; Filet Mignon - $74. Hello Red Lodge! Next week we will be offering Enchiladas, Salsa Roja, Pickled Carrots and Guacamole for pick up, before the busy Graduation season starts! Pick up will be Thursday between 3pm and 5pm. Enchiladas will be braised chicken with tomatillo salsa verde and/or pork (cochinita pibil) with red guajillo chile ranchero sauce. Each tray will have 22 individual enchiladas for $59.00. Pints of salsa and carrots each will be $6.00, and pints of guacamole will be $10.00. A Red Lodge Mexican Restaurant announcement:

It is with a combination of sadness and excitement for me (Mike) and just plain excitement for Ricardo that we announce Mas Taco has sold our building to La Palmita! Mind blowing….right??

Mas Taco is moving in a different direction, abandoning the restaurant model and expanding our catering and retail operations. We will also be doing “pop up” days. So please continue to monitor our social media pages for updates!

La Palmita will settle in to continue offering their delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine that has become a Red Lodge staple.

Mas Taco’s last day in restaurant format will be Saturday March 5th, so please come in to say hello and enjoy your favorite meal! And if you have gift cards, be sure to bring those in as well. Any gift cards after closing will still be redeemable for any retail items offered from us directly (enchiladas, salsas, guacamole, etc.) that we will be offering going forward. This includes any catered meals or events.

The last 10+ years have been a wonderful experience for myself, Jenny and our daughter, getting to know all of you in this awesome community, and our restaurant has been a perfect vehicle to enable those connections to take place. We are full of gratitude and want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you that became our “Mas Taco Family”. We would also like to acknowledge our hardworking staff members that have come and gone throughout the years and have allowed us to maintain our standards of quality and consistency since day one. One of the most rewarding things that I realized over the years was feeding different ages of school children in our early years and getting to witness them growing up, going through their adolescence and eventually going off to college or elsewhere, coming back when in town to order their favorite Mas Taco meal they grew up on! We will miss these experiences.

But remember…you’ll still see the Mas Taco name in the community. You will see our presence in the market, in different gathering venues cooking for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, graduation parties, etc…
So please stay connected for updates and information and we hope to see you soon.

Our Story

Michael and Jenny Muirhead hope to bring an authentic taste of Mexico to Red Lodge with the simple concept of the taquería (taco shop). The menu will feature pork "al Pastor" prepared using a trompo (vertical rotisserie), carne asada, slow roasted chicken, shrimp "al mojo de ajo", and rajas con crema. We also plan to have weekly soup and entree specials. Hoping to keep with the taco shop feel we are opened in a small historical 1960's "fill up" station that has been converted to a counter and patio seating restaurant. Red Lodge is a walking, biking, hang out on your porch town where we hope to serve much of our clients in the summer months by walk up window and patio. Although during the colder winter months join us in the exhibition kitchen- counter seating - warm Mexican interior. Check our site for updates!
