Hearken, good gentles! Ever wonder what sets a tented Renaissance festival apart from a permanent village faire?

Allow us to part the velvet curtain and reveal the tale of the Montana Renaissance Festival…

For now, our festival be a mighty weekend gathering—raised from canvas, timber, sweat, and sorcery. A wondrous realm that appears like magic… and vanishes by moon’s next rise.

But within those fleeting hours, we conjure a celebration to rival the greatest across the realm:

🎭 Our stages host performers and musicians seen at Colorado, Arizona, Ohio, and other legendary faires.
🎪 We invest six figures each year to bring in world-class talent.
🏅 Voted #1 Festival in the Rocky Mountain Region and #4 in the United States by USA Today.
👑 Over 18,000 guests joined us last year—more than most weekend faires see, and nearly matching single-weekend numbers at the biggest multi-weekend shows.

But here’s where the tale takes a thrilling turn…

Permanent village faires have stone stages, real taverns, and bustling shops that live year-round. No setup, no tear-down—just magic that never sleeps.

And that, dear friends, is our quest:
To plant roots and raise Montana’s own Renaissance village.
A home for festivals, craftsfolk, merriment, and memories that last through the seasons.

Part tavern, part gathering hall, and fully steeped in swashbuckling spirit—it be the first brick in the castle we aim to build.

We replied:
“Ah yes—you dropped a playground insult, and now we’re the ones who need to act like adults? That’s rich.

Tell us, dost thou often throw stones and then scold the house for having windows? Or is this just a special performance for the village square?”

He said:
And you people vote and have children..... sad.

We replied:
“Ah, and you have internet access. Truly, the bar for modern civilization has been set most generously.

But worry not—we do vote, we do raise fine children, and we absolutely know how to throw a better party than thou.” 🏰💅

He said:
And what you do is relevant????? Laughable.....lol

We replied:
“Over 18,000 people attended our Festival in 2024—and in doing so, we brought over $6 million in revenue to the fine business owners of Carbon County.

So if that’s irrelevant, we dare say the local inns, restaurants, shops, and vendors might heartily disagree.”

He said:
Laughable at best.

We replied:
“Strange, for something so ‘laughable,’ thou dost seem awfully invested.

One might think someone’s a bit more interested than they care to admit. 😉”

He said:
lol...... ok.

We replied:
“And truly, we thank thee—for all these comments have surely pleased the algorithm gods. Engagement is engagement, after all. 😉

💬 Moral of the Story: Even trolls feed the fire that warms the kingdom.

The Black Dragon Inn seeks skilled Cooks and Sous Chefs to work their magic behind the scenes, crafting feasts fit for Lords, Ladies, Pirates, and Peasants alike! If ye wield a spatula like a sword and can tame fire with finesse, step into our galley and join the crew!

🛡️ Ye Duties Include:
Prepare hearty fare with speed, skill, and a splash of flair—no burnt brisket or soggy spuds allowed!

Work side-by-side with fellow kitchen warriors to ensure every dish be delicious, timely, and true.

Maintain the cleanliness of thy domain, for even the messiest rogue deserves a clean cauldron.

Follow recipes and procedures, but also be ready to improvise when the stew gets wild.

Assist with inventory and prep, keeping the larder stocked and the magic flowing.

⚔️ Ye Qualifications:
Proven experience in the kitchens of the realm (or the modern equivalent).

Able to stand long hours over flame and steel—no faint hearts in the galley!

A keen sense of time, taste, and teamwork.

A cool head when the kitchen heats up, and the ability to move fast without fury.

Knowledge of food safety rules (lest ye wish to duel the Health Inspector).

Must be willing to learn modern kitchen tools and tech (even the occasional enchanted ticket printer).
