Where proud of our home, Rockne, Texas. But the name of the town has an interesting history. Here’s a fun story on where our hometown gets its name.

We love a good story.

Even though Notre Dame coach Knute Rockne was born in Norway, and never lived in Texas, he is the namesake of this town in Bastrop County.

Happy 185th birthday Texas!

On this day in 1836, 59 men gathered in an unfinished building on the banks of the Brazos River to sign the Declaration of Texas Independence. In 4 days the Alamo would fall, and independence would not be fully achieved until April 21 on the fields of San Jacinto. However, what happened on this day at Washington-on-the-Brazos, is what birthed a nation. A declaration of Liberty, poured out, not in blood, but in ink.

While our roots don’t go quite back to Texas Revolution era, we’re proud to be 5th generation Texans working the same soil our ancestors did over 100 years ago. Our story is special. So is yours. Let’s tell them together.

Happy Texas Independence Day!!

We're proud of our story. Our family has been here in Rockne for over 100 years. This is a place built out of love - love for others, love of history, love of place.

We hope you'll become part of the story by celebrating here.

Thomas and Shane Wilhelm decided to create a wedding venue to generate enough revenue so the house can be saved, brought back to its original glory.

The Oaks.
Our namesake live oak trees will take your breath away. Each are over a hundred years old and have the twisting, arching branches that these native trees are well known for. The two stand guard in front of the old farm house and their canopies merge to form a natural arch.

We call them Annie and Andy, in honor of the couple that built the farm house a century ago. At their trunks, Annie has a circumference of 9 feet and Andy measures a stately 14 feet! Today they form a beautiful setting for those who are looking for a nature-inspired alternative to The Sanctuary. Whether using them for a ceremony or not they make for a stunning photo opportunity.

Annie, the smaller tree closer to the house, is decked out in over 6500 warm white Christmas lights. These lights are turned on for any ceremony and for special holidays.

These trees are part of our story. Let us help you discover how they can be part of your story, too.

Flashback Friday post! Here’s an example of what the farm looked like when we purchased it in 2018 versus what it looks like today. Photo is taken in the exact same spot 33 months apart, notice the windmill.

We are committed to preserving the story of this farm that has been part of our family for over a century.

Inspired by the the arches and peaks of the ancient cathedrals, but with roots firmly planted in the soil of central Texas farmland – The Sanctuary is the heart of Lily Oaks.

At 12′ x 14′ the Sanctuary, this magnificent building is designed to adjust to you. With a peak soaring nearly 20 feet above the ground, the stately white beams provide the grand focus point for a large ceremony or as the entire setting for an intimate ceremony, comfortably fitting a small wedding party plus 12 guests under it’s roof.

Once the sun sets, the magic is revealed. State-of-the-art, hidden, lighting allows The Sanctuary to be lit in any color, from a soft white glow to drastic colors, matching any theme.

For those desiring a more religious ambiance, The Sanctuary has the option to have floating stained-glass windows installed in two of the archways and a large cross to be suspended from the ceiling.

Hooks and electricity throughout the building gives you the ability to decorate the sanctuary to meet your needs, even including the option to hang a chandelier from the center beam.
