What an honor it is to host the very first Fall Into Jazz Festival in one of Redding’s oldest and most unique buildings, the I.O.O.F. Hall in Downtown Redding!

Built in 1888, it was home to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.), one of the world’s oldest and largest fraternal orders. Centered on friendship, love, and truth, the organization continues to encourage its members to become better people and help make the world around them a better place.

Today, the building is home to Viva Downtown, an organization that consistently supports downtown businesses, organizations, and residents, contributing to the vitality and vibrancy of the Redding Cultural District. What a way to carry on the incredible legacy that began more than a century ago in that building!

Thanks to the support of The McConnell Foundation, Viva Downtown supports other local non-profit organizations like The Art Hunger, which has a monthly rotating gallery on the first floor of the building. Viva Downtown also hosts a wide range of local cultural events, like Juneteenth, the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, the Redding Beer & Wine Festival, the annual City of Redding Tree Lighting Celebration and more! Viva Downtown frequently partners with other non-profit organizations like the Shasta Historical Society and the Shasta County Arts Council to ensure the district remains activated with events that welcome the community into the heart and soul of Downtown Redding.

The I.O.O.F. Hall’s unique design, painted in vibrant blue, plum, and white, stands out against the backdrop of the beautiful Redding’s Cultural District. Its eight architectural arches are the perfect display for a rotating gallery of local art. The I.O.O.F.'s upstairs room welcomes music and art experiences like the Fall Into Jazz Festival, fashion shows, community meetings and everything in between.

We can’t thank the team at Viva Downtown enough for the amazing support they’ve provided for this event, from hosting the beer and wine bar, to inviting us to host our event in the building that has so much history and so many happy memories. John, Blake, and Jacob – you are tops in our book!

We are proud to host this inaugural Fall Into Jazz event in the heart of the Redding Cultural District. This incredible Downtown corridor is bustling with art, music, greenspaces, and an undeniable sense of community.
