I hear “Doesn’t she stand on the left?” while running rehearsals very frequently from parents or grandparents. And while that was the case generations ago, that is not at all the case now.
Brides should stand showing off the side they like most on themselves.
Parents sitting on the opposite side of their child during ceremony will give themselves the benefit of seeing their face versus their backs AND hearing them better. 💛

Loved how the styling of this wedding came out! We chose alternating centerpieces throughout the tables, some with tall candles (those are mine-if you like them and we’re working together-let’s talk) with gorgeous floral centerpieces on others.
And can we please talk about THAT CAKE?!?!? WOWWWWW. 🤩
you did it again! Bravo! 👏🏻

…and all the butter mints I could eat because I love them. 😆

Finding the right team of vendors can be a daunting task at times. So many questions to ask, so many factors to consider, and if you don’t know WHAT to ask, it can be overwhelming and confusing.
I offer a service for those who may not have the budget for a planner but who could benefit from the guidance of one. I can help you find the best place to start, what questions to ask each vendor, things to consider when choosing your vendor team, and how it all translates on your big day. I can also create a timeline and complete set up and end of night instructions for you and your vendors to follow to make the day as smooth as possible.
DM for details and as always…happy planning 💛

ARE YOU NEWLY ENGAGED? 💍
Psst: You may want to read ⤵️

-First, congratulations! This is going to be a very exciting time for you…and maybe a little stressful too. But that’s normal 😉

Secondly, let me offer some advice as you start your search for your perfect vendor team.

1) DON’T ask “What do you charge?” In your inquiry. Truth be told, we HATE that! Let me explain…it’s just rude. Thats it.
2) Pertaining to planning: during the inquiry phase I suggest starting out by giving us as much information as possible such as, location of your event (if you have one, if not you can state a venue hasn’t been selected yet-that’s totally fine ☺️) date or range. The size of your guest count, budget, any and ALL other information you have. How irrelevant it might seem to you, it helps us.
While some planners have package rates, some take a tailored approach to formulating our services and fee and we base that on what we know about you.
3) Don’t start the conversation with complaining about the cost of weddings. Weddings are an investment couples choose to make. We don’t force anyone to have a wedding. Vendors charge what couples have shown us they are willing and comfortable paying.
4) Be respectful of the time planners give you before signing a contract. We are eager to get to know you and find out if we make a good team just as much as you are. But there is a limit to the amount of time we should give you before you put pen to paper.
If you know you want to work with us and we’ve demonstrated we are committed to you-please don’t waste our time.
5) Please know that while we love hearing from you and knowing how things are developing on your end-keep communication clear and concise. Important information that relates to a specific subject regarding the wedding should come via email with the subject line indicating the topic like, “catering update” or “Photography question/update” and don’t be afraid to start a new email with each subject. Hitting reply to everything can make it difficult to find an email about a particular subject.

I hope this helps 🥰

(On a side note-can we just a take a moment to admire how freaking GORGEOUS this whole look is??? 🥰)

I love officiating weddings and these two hilarious and sweet women were one of my favorites. 🥰 We laughed and cried but got through it together.
When I officiate I take a tailored approach. As no two couples are the same, no two ceremonial scripts are the same. I tell your story. And some of you have some really funny stories TO tell, which makes my job that much more fun. 🤩

As you plan your ceremony start time consider these key factors to ensure your day isn’t rushed:
-What time is sunset?
-What time does the venue require you to end the evening?
-How large is your guest count?

Determining sunset will give you a better idea of how much time you have for ceremony, cocktail hour

and how sunset photos fit into dinner. You do NOT want to miss your own dinner!!!!

If a venue’s end time is 10pm and you are not doing a first look, I strongly recommend a 3pm ceremony or doing a first look if you plan on a 4pm start time. This will maximize your time with your friends and family rather than just with your photographer.

Your guest count can impact how long it takes to get everyone seated at ceremony, then seated for dinner, and finally how long it takes everyone to eat dinner. The larger the guest count the longer those things can take which can shorten the time you have to just…party! 💃🏼🕺🏻🪩🥂

-Or, you can just hire a planner and WE can figure all of this out for you! 😉💛

Happy November! Looking at these gorgeous tables from last months wedding is giving me some serious thanksgiving table inspiration vibes.
I’m thinking farm tables, my white runners you see here, loads of white pumpkins down the center with my gold mercury and glass votives sprinkled in. Gold cutlery, sage green napkins, gold napkin rings and those gorgeous textured goblets.
Done and done! 👍🏼

If you’re in need of some table inspiration-let me know. I’m kind of a fanatic about it and would love to help you bounce ideas around 🥰

Brides…It’s finally here; your wedding day! 💍

Here’s what you need to do as a bride: NOTHING!
You’ve already hand selected your team of vendors who know what you want. Particularly, your planner. It’s time to let them do their jobs and allow them the freedom and flexibility to make decisions for you based on the relationship we have built together. This is why when I am asked about Day Of Coordination services I insist on being able to be a part of your planning even in a small way until I fully jump in 6 weeks out.
My desire to be as involved as I can be isn’t a money grab: I don’t charge extra for the texts and calls we exchange when planning, I want to be privy to your planning, thoughts and ideas because it will allow me to understand your priorities and make decisions on your behalf on the wedding day with confidence.
If you are a bride who cannot let go and may fall into the “Type A”category I implore you to let it go. And if you can’t, respectfully, do it yourself.
That is not a slight or an insult. You may actually benefit from booking a venue that will allow you to set up the day before. I still recommend hiring someone to make your timeline and have a point person in charge of communicating with vendors and venue staff. Otherwise, it is likely you will be pulled in many different directions and miss the very day you worked so hard in planning.

Good God! 😍😍-Thats it. That’s all I’ve got! I’ve been rendered speechless. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well hi, friends. 💛

I just wrapped up my last wedding event of the year and I wanted to take a second to thank the amazing people I got to know over this year.
As a small business owner it can be a journey that is filled with so many ups and some downs. It’s a privilege to do the thing you love and to have people choose you to be part of such a momentous part of their lives. It’s both rewarding and emotionally taxing at times. It doesn’t matter the industry you may be in; If you are a fellow SBO you know this on a deep level.
We do what we do because it’s our passion and we love our clients and we know what we offer adds value to their lives.
I want to thank some of you for whom I got to know over this year who brought value to MY life, both the brides AND the grooms. There were so many of you that I really loved getting to know and when it was time to say goodbye, I wasn’t ready. I’m going to keep saying it…I have the BEST couples!!! 🥰

And for the rest-don’t let 2023’s door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. ✌🏻

Wedding party myths busted:
~You don’t have to have the same number on each side.
~You don’t have to have them walk down in pairs
~You don’t have to place them by height
~Having a difficult time deciding who should be your MOH or BM? Don’t have one. Keep all of your bridesmaids as bridesmaids and your groomsmen as groomsmen. Don’t let titles get in the way-they’re really not necessary.
~You don’t even have to have a wedding party.
~Keep in mind that while your wedding is the most important thing to you in this moment. It is not for them. They have their own lives, hobbies, and responsibilities outside of your wedding. They may not all be able to go along with everything you have planned. Finances, like personalities are different for everyone. Understand that and remember they were your friends before and will be your friends after the wedding. Treat them accordingly 💕

I’ll always be a sucker for wildflowers and bud vases (or as in this case, wine and whiskey bottles 😁). Something about the simplistic mix of the flowers, the glass and little candles wins me over every time.
-Especially, when the flowers came from the brides mothers garden. 💛

My most FAQ’s: answered

1️⃣ “How much do you charge?”
-Depends on the level of service you require. I tailer my services and fee to your needs. Until I have a better understanding of what you require from a planner, I can’t really give you an answer. 💛
2️⃣ “How much is a flower order?”
-That is dependent on how heavy of an order you require based on the design and number of tables. My advice; settle on an overall design style and let your florist source out the flowers that will deliver that look. Trust them to make appropriate substitutions that will still deliver the look at a potentially reduced cost. They know what they’re doing.
3️⃣ “Do I really need a DJ?”
-Yes!
4️⃣ “Do you carry tables /chairs and linens?”
-No. Most venues carry their own tables and chairs. I can help you acquire the rest. I DO carry decor items
5️⃣ “Can I hire you and your team just for the day? I just want you for the wedding day, itself!”
-Nope!
6️⃣ “Why do I need to hire a bartender if all we’re serving is beer and wine?”
-A) you want someone to monitor the flow and mitigate over consumption. B) If there is an accident as a result of a drunk driver from your wedding your bartending team will carry the necessary insurance that will buffer YOU from a potential lawsuit.
7️⃣ “Can you get me discounts on other vendors?”
-I will do my very best in finding a team of professionals who will give you the best possible experience at the most reasonable price. I will not ask a vendor to discount their price based in affordability. What you can afford (or not) has no bearing on what they deserve to be paid and what other people pay them.

💛💛

If you are someone who leans towards a muted, or a monochromatic palette but you’re not sure how to execute it-this post is for you:

-First: add texture. Texture is what makes any color story interesting. Even in your tables wares-texture can make a huge impact on the overall visual presentation.

-Second: don’t be afraid to add some darker pieces into the arrangements. Darker pieces poked in here and there are going to allow the lighter tones to pop. Without contrast your eye won’t know where to land because it all just looks the same.

-Thirdly: add dimension. You want everything from tall-to center-and pieces that drape. Again, its about keeping the look pretty AND interesting! co thank you for creating the visual stunners from which I can illustrate as the “This is how it’s done, guys!” Kind of post. 💛

What’s the difference between a Wedding Planner and a Day Of Coordinator? Great question! I’d love to answer that.
-A Wedding Planner is a person who assists you in any way you may need once the planning begins. We help you find the perfect venue, the right vendors, we make sure every detail is accounted for big or small. We play an active role in communicating with your vendors, help with budget management and assist you in creating the perfect design. We also help create contingency plans in case weather or other unexpected issues may arise. In the most basic sense, we do most if not all of the leg work so you can actually enjoy the planning process without the worry.
-A Day Of Coordinator plays a different role. Typically with a DOC you can expect to be the one finding the venue, booking your vendors, and making sure you’ve accounted for the finer details.
A good DOC should give you the opportunity to speak to them during the planning process to ensure you aren’t missing any valuable information along the way. You should be able to speak with them and have them review your contracts as you book so you both know your day will go perfectly. DOC’s should take over communication between you and your vendors about 4-6 weeks out.
On your wedding day your Planner/DOC will perform the same duties. They are there to set all the details, work with the vendors and stay ahead of any potential problems that may arise.
And just in case you were wondering-we offer both services…and a lot more! 😉

Let’s discuss some ways you can still have the most amazing wedding day at a reduced cost.
1) choose an off season date. Think early winter or late fall.
2) Move your ceremony start time to a late evening timeframe and offer lite bites and desserts. If your ceremony is at 6 or 7 most people will have eaten a proper meal before attending.
This will also reduce the number of tables/linens/chairs you’ll need to offer. Think a few dinner tables and mostly high tops. That’s all you need 👍🏼
3) Keep your guest count at or below 50.
4) No hard alcohol
5) No favors
6) look on wedding resale sites for decor (facebook marketplace is a great example)

Things NOT to skimp on…

Proper vendors!

All too often friends or family will offer to help but when the day comes what they really want to do is enjoy the wedding-not work it. Anyone who offers to help HAS to be considered a real vendor. You can’t have people popping back and forth between being a guest and being in charge of something vital. Trust me when I tell you-it’s not what you think it will be. 🤦🏼‍♀️
