The Mitten Building is hiring BANQUET SERVERS, CAPTAINS and BARTENDERS! Jobs pay between $16-30 per hour depending on job duties and experience. The hours are mainly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (day shifts and evening shifts) but we have plenty of weekday/evening shifts as well. This opportunity is a perfect "2nd" job, an excellent fit for students or anyone with a flexible schedule.

Our Banquet Servers (no experience required): Starts at $16, with opportunity to make up to $22 per hour based on your experience, efficiency, and performance.

Server Tasks: Lifting up to 40 lbs. Bussing tables, carrying trays and tubs of dishes, polishing silverware and glassware, setting linens and tables, moving tables and chairs, cleaning up spills and floors as needed, maintaining cleanliness of restrooms during events, putting away dishes and catering items, serving food on a buffet line, refilling food, prepping food, cutting cake, refilling beverages, ice, and water, listening and helping guests with any concern, wiping off surfaces, hanging decor, sweeping indoors and outdoors, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning kitchen surfaces.
Captains tasks are all the above plus (experience in restaurant/event staff management required): Pays $23-30 per hour depending on your experience and performance
· Enforces established rules, regulations and policies.
· Supervises and evaluates service staff.
· Coordinates food service between kitchen and service staff.
· Inspects dining room to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
· Inspects all linens daily for proper appearance.
· Provides layout and design recommendations to applicable managers.
· Reviews table diagrams, guest tables and other function room set-up needs for special functions.
· Conducts pre-service employee briefings (line-up meetings) to ensure smooth, efficient service; assigns server stations and coordinates the timing of courses.
· Ensures that all staff are well-groomed and in proper uniform.
· Receives and greets members and guests. Interacts with banquet host or hostess to assure all needs are being met.
Resolves member and guest complaints.
· Assures that pre-opening cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required.
· Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed.
· Assures that revenue control procedures are continually followed.
· Suggests dining room decorations for special themes.
· Manages the guest reservation system; manages a waiting list if necessary.
· Assists with service of food and beverages in outlets and for special functions when needed.
· Assists with table clearing and re-setting as needed.
· Suggests when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed.
· May serve as club’s opening or closing manager or manager on duty.
· Assists in inventory assessments.
· Assures that local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
· Coordinates any special requests including dietary needs with the executive chef.
Bartenders Pays $16-you 20 per hour plus tips depending on duties performed, experience, and tasks performed.
