Our featured artist this month is poet Laila Vafaeezadeh: Laila (she/her) was born and raised in the greater Seattle area, and some of her first memories are the overwhelming green of towering evergreen trees and the yipping howls of backyard coyotes. Surrounded by nature as a child, she roved the forests, collecting and mapping and sometimes simply observing.

Laila always knew that she would grow up to be a writer, from the time she was old enough to hold a pencil and scribble out an incomprehensible story onto paper. It was her driving passion, and it shaped her as she grew. She devoured books of all kinds, finding edification and solace in the works of Gerald Durrell, Anne Rice, Carl Hiaasen, Daniel Quinn, and James Herriot.

As an adult, Laila is an animal lover, having worked with dogs and other pets for nearly a decade. She is a collector of many strange and interesting things, and adores beauty in all its forms, be it interior design or the scent of a custom perfume. She seeks the interesting, the odd, and the splendid in all she does- though the written word will always be her first love.

You're the reason Pride Across the Bridge (PAB) exists, and your feedback is essential to us. Responses to this end-of-year survey help us:
- Understand the changing needs of the local 2SLGBTQIA+ community
- Keep our community's needs at the forefront when looking at the direction of our advocacy and programs.
- Provide new services requested by our community
- Obtain grants to improve and expand our programs

The survey should take about five minutes—longer if you choose to fill in more details. Your responses will be kept anonymous, unless you choose to add your email in the next slide. There are no required questions, feel free to take your time, and this end of year survey will be live through the end of January.

We thank you for your time and look forward to your feedback!

Important Update: Beyond Binary Connections Meetup Cancelled today

Due to the ongoing power outages in our area, as well as concerns for community safety with fallen trees, downed power lines, and a full parking lot at our venue (shared with a nearby hotel assisting with some of those impacted), we’ve made the decision to cancel today’s meetup.

Your safety is our priority, and we want everyone to stay safe and sane!

We’ll be back on Thursday, December 12th, and we can’t wait to connect with you all then!

Thank you for understanding. Stay safe and take care of each other. 🤗
