Many know the "language of flowers," like roses for love and sunflowers for cheerfulness.
But what about Thai flowers? Can you name any meanings?
Separating pleasure from work can be challenging for me, as my hobbies of photography and flowers blend into my business. While in Bangkok, I dragged my husband to a flower market, promising a short visit. I was amazed at how locals create beautiful flower decorations in minutes and sell them for just 50 cents to gift to Buddhas. Bangkok is overflowing with flowers.
Here are a few meanings of Thailand’s most popular flowers:
1. Jasmine: Purity, Gentleness, Loyalty, Maternal Love
• Used in garlands and temple decorations.
2. Orchid: Luxury, Beauty, Education
• Symbolizes wealth and grace.
3. Lotus: Purity, Cleanliness, Awakening
• Sacred in Buddhism, used in rituals and art.
I enjoyed capturing some flora images that some are unique to this area and would love to share it with you.
