Kids at weddings.

I absolutely love when kids are a part of a wedding, in any way. They bring a sense of presence, playfulness, boredom, and then pure joy. It’s a great analogy for what weddings truly represent. They are planned, but unpredictable. They are formal and dressed up, but also messy. They are full of joy, and yet there are tears. So much is happening during the day of wedding, yet they can still play in the sand.

Here’s a tribute to the little ones.

Sunrises are always worth it. Yep, it’s early. I don’t always love it when the alarm goes off. However, there is no doubt that the second I see that amazing light and put my feet in the sand, it’s magic.

Mother’s Day is approaching. I’ve spent so many years photographing mothers and children. Sometimes it happens in a family session, sometimes in homes, and even on the street. I always feel a sense of camaraderie when I see another mother juggling tasks, strollers, and little personalities in the midst of their day. It’s the greatest sacrifice, and biggest gift. It’s taught me so much so far, and I’m still learning.
