The Terraces at Plane Hill

The Terraces at Plane Hill The grounds are available for garden tours and as an event venue.

The Terraces at Plane Hill are historic gardens built by Civil War Captain Alexander Hamilton Boykin, that date from the 1840s, surrounding a plantation home that dates from 1817. The house was the childhood home of famed Civil War author Mary Boykin Chesnut (“A Diary from Dixie”), and her father, South Carolina Governor Stephen Decatur Miller.
