Congratulation to the Nelson Family and Vinnie's Fine Foods for winning the esteemed title of "Concessionaire of the Year, 2024!" Pictured here is the Nelson Family, some of their elite staff members, and employees and members of the Dutchess County Agricultural Society. Not only did they knock it out of the park this year with their addition of a dedicated gluten free stand, "Simply Gluten Free," but Vincent R Nelson took on the role as coordinator for the food concessionaires participation in the Dutchess County Youth Livestock Sale in which a large donation of food was donated to local food pantries.

The Fairgoers spoke and we listened! Congratulations to Helena of Fairplay Puzzles and the Nelson family of Vinnie's Fine Foods for winning their respective categories in the Dutchess Fair Flair! contest. Helena's "Fair Themed" puzzle was the front runner all week in the non food category and Vinnie's Gluten Free Oreo skyrocketed to the top after the third day of the Fair. Thank you to all the fairgoers that voted. We're looking forward to next year's competition!

October 5th and October 6th, Octoberfest will return to Rhinebeck, NY for its fifth anniversary. Produced by Quail Hollow Events, the festival is centered around the concept of handmade, but also infused with harvest energy and Oktoberfest staples. This event provides visitors the rare opportunity to browse one-of-a-kind handmade goods (created by 100+ juried exhibitors in more than ten media categories!), before hopping on a horse-drawn carriage ride, visiting a petting zoo and dancing to live music. Coming this weekend to the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, the wildly popular Hudson Valley Wine and Food Festival! The 23rd annual Festival features over 300 vendors and gourmet food options. Attendees can participate in cooking demonstrations, cocktail classes, and wine seminars, as well as wine expert and mixologists. The festival also features live music! Saturday, 11am-6pm and Sunday, 11am-5pm.

Food Concessionaires Unite to Make a Difference at the 2024 Dutchess County Fair
It's long days for the many vendors that attend the Dutchess County Fair especially the food vendors. At the end of the night, while many vendors button up their booths and quietly exit the grounds to get a few hours of sleep, the food concessionaires are not quite done with their day. They work until the late hours of the night where they cook, clean and prep for the following day. One can only imagine how exhausting it must be.

At this year's Fair, many of the food concessionaires found the time to collect over $8000 dollars to support and donate to several organizations and causes.
"I don't think people realize how much the Fair & Amusement industry folks care and give back. We are very fortunate to be surrounded by such generous people," stated Andy Imperati, President/CEO. "I'd like to especially thank Vincent Nelson, of Vinnie's Fine Foods for spearheading this project."

The vendors purchased the Grand Champion Hog at the Dutchess County Youth Livestock Sale with the processed meat being donated to Red Hook Responds along with a $1000 donation.
An additional $2000 donation will go to the Dutchess County 4-H Scholarship Program with the rest being carried over to next year's sale.
