is an affordable and accessible alternative to the larger costly "Comic Con" events, with a strong focus on comics and fan interaction - a family-friendly event in the DFW area featuring exciting comic book and media guests, costumed characters, gaming and Anime content. With multiple sjows each year, this is a great pop culture experience for the whole family. This convention was

put together by Mark Walters, who ran the Dallas Comic & Toy Fest (aka "Dallas Comic Show") from 2000 to 2002, and managed the "Dallas Comic Con" events from 2002 to 2014 until that brand was sold by the owners. Our mission with DALLAS COMIC SHOW is to bring back an affordable pop culture convention experience to the DFW area, something everyone can enjoy and embrace without breaking the bank. This is show run by fans and done for fans. We are here to make sure you have fun. Our inaugural shows were held at the Richardson Convention Center - in the Spring of 2016 (April 23-24) and in late Summer 2016 (August 6-7). Our third event was at the Irving Convention Center on February 11-12, 2017, and our fourth back at the Richardson Civic Center on September 16-17, 2017. In 2018 we had two fun events happening, August 25-26, and November 17-18. In 2019, we had three shows - the first April 6-7 in Richardson, then August 10-11 in Lewisville, TX, and finally November 23-24 in Richardson. In 2020, due to Coronavirus concerns, we decided to go on hiatus and not attempt public gatherings, which in hindsight was probably for the best. In 2021, the Dallas Comic Show returns with THREE scheduled events - the first being a single-day show on June 26, the second a two-day show August 21-22, and the third being November 6-7, and all three events will be held at the Music City Mall in Lewisville, TX. We hope to see you there!

We’re getting ready to open, and the room is looking good! Are you heading this way?

When you get to the mall this weekend, look for our banners on Entrance 4 (back side of the mall) or Entrance 5 (front side of the mall), those are the two easiest entrances to use for the show. We also have a banner outside of Entrance 3, but that is not necessarily close. Again, if you missed it, please watch the video at the link below.

Important news you need to know for DALLAS COMIC SHOW’s Holiday Special this November 23-24, 2024. Normally we’re located in the center court of The Vista Shopping Center, but that space was double-booked, and we’ve temporarily moved to a new spot… but it’s a nice one, very well-lit and spacious.

The show this weekend will be located inside the former CitiTrends store, which is located on the upper level of the mall, directly above the Cinemark theater from the inside. There are TWO ways to get to our new spot. All of the mall entrances are numbered. You can either park on the back side of the mall at Entrance #4, which is on the upper level, come inside and go to the left, and you can’t miss us. OR you can park on the front side of the mall at Entrance #5, which is on the lower level to the left of Zion Market, come inside and take the BIG elevator (right in front of the Cinemark) up, and we’re right there. Parking is FREE

We’ve made a quick 3-minute video that explains this, it’s worth watching to give you an idea of what to expect. Just remember when you arrive, if you go to the usual center court location, we will NOT be there - there will be an event going on there, but it isn’t us. Unable to sleep? We feel ya. Online ticket sales for DALLAS COMIC SHOW’s Holiday Special this November 23-24, 2024 are now closed, but not to worry, you can still buy tickets at the door - CASH ONLY for all walk-up ticket sales… no coins, please. There are multiple ATM machines in the mall.

We STRONGLY suggest you bring cash to shop with as some vendors and guests won’t take credit cards… save yourself an ATM fee!

If you pre-purchased tickets, be sure to stop at the Will Call table when you arrive to check in by name, have ID ready.

Our Story

Dallas Comic Show is an affordable and accessible alternative to the larger costly events, with a strong focus on comic book creators and fan interaction. With multiple events each year, this is a great pop culture experience for the whole family. This convention was put together by Mark Walters, who was instrumental in the original Dallas Fantasy Fair from 1993 until that show ended in 1996 (working as second in command to the promoter Larry Lankford), ran the Dallas Comic & Toy Fest (aka "Dallas Comic Show") from 2000 to 2002, and managed the Dallas Comic Con and Sci-Fi Expo events from 2002 to 2014 until that brand was sold by the owners. Dallas Comic Show held two events at the Richardson Civic Center in 2016, one at the Irving Convention Center and one back in Richardson in 2017, one in Lewisville at the Premier Event Center in August of 2018, and another at the Richardson Civic Center in November of 2018. In 2019 there were multiple events planned, the first was at the Richardson Civic Center on April 6-7 (our “Spring Celebration”), the next was August 10-11 in Lewisville, TX at the Premier Event Center (our “Fantasy Festival”), and then we were back at the Richardson Civic Center on November 23-24 (our “Holiday Special”). As for 2020, thanks to Covid-19, we’re still figuring things out, but not to worry... we WILL return..
