Looking for spring

We had to take down a 150+ year old tree. It took them 9 hours to cut it down. It was over twice the height of my 2 story house. 😥 It had shaded 100 square feet of my yard for decades and probably this property for over a century. I cried, along with the birds and squirrels and the deer. Even my dog seemed sad.
So……. I decided to make a garden out of the old chicken/duck coop that was beneath it, since it was unused and overgrown with weeds for awhile now. The area went from heavy dense shade to bright sunlight in the course of one day. I repurposed old things I had laying around. Even used the mulch from my old tree to return to the soil and Mother Nature. The hummingbirds and butterflies and bees seem to like it. Next year I’ll put in a small vegetable garden in there, too, since the deer won’t be able to nibble at it. The other day I saw a little bunny checking it out. At least I can look over there from my patio now, and smile at the place that left a big hole in my sanctuary.
Sometimes things change unexpectedly, things will be different, but they can be beautiful again in another way. God provides. 🙏
