From their website: "A Cushion is used to keep something comfortable or protect it from damage. We aim to apply this principle to young people in our community. While one of our primary purposes is outreach to at risk youths, we recognize that life can put anyone “at risk” at any moment in time. We desire to create an all inclusive program that is regionally recognized as a fun safe place to hang out and learn life skills, developing STEAM programs with our “Youth Executive Board” as our leading force. Our mission is focused on youth outreach where ever they may be found in the community. Our priority is to lead in organizing, amplifying and protecting the youth voice of the Tri Cities.

Our current outreach activities include outreach at community parks with the Janette Taylor Skate Park in Richland being one of our focus areas. Many of the youths at that location come from broken families that have struggled through parental addiction as they grew up and now have tenancies themselves towards addictive actions. It has also been noted as a troubled spot in the Richland community. One of the aspects in our outreach is connectivity through music. We organize shows at the skate park for new bands that have not played in front of crowds yet, giving them a boost in the music scene. We bring pizza, sodas and water, networking with local kids and discuss issues they face in our community."

They will be doing events at The Space as well as continuing their monthly music outreach gigs at the Richland skate park. Music for sure, plus other arts, and some cool workshops. Follow their page for updates!

Sacred dance is any type of dance that is done with an intention to connect with or communicate something about the sacred and has a rich history which stretches back to the earliest periods of human society, when ritual movement was part of our efforts to understand and control the natural world.

Dancing is not only a great way to get moving and enhance flexibility, but it can boost your mental health and foster deep emotional healing, too.

Shaking your hips and b***y has specific benefits including opening the root and sacral chakras, releasing stored trauma in the body and stimulating the vagus nerve which helps and regulates the nervous system!

What to expect?? We'll start with an opening ceremony to cleanse and release, dance for an hour or so, and finish with a closing ceremony.

You are welcome to join a workshop led by sensual sensation The L Delacroix at The Space in Richland’s Uptown Shopping Center this Friday April 15th from 7-8:30pm. We will go over some burlesque basics, and then learn the moves to a lil choreo sampler to Let’s Fall in Love for the Night by FINNEAS.

All skill levels and all variety of folks welcome! Please bring a water bottle and wear clothes you feel comfortable moving in.

✨🍑A hip hop styled neoburlesque workshop taught by Nat Blakely/ L Delacroix (aka Funfetti of Starlight Studio’s Krump Cake Crew, back in the day ;) 🎉) 🍑✨ .l.delacroix

No experience necessary! Bring your BUTT and your ATTITUDE, and we will play with:

Glute isolations
Twerking
Hip hop styling basics

Then we will finish by learning a lil bit of choreo to “Deal with It” by Ashnikko

DONATION BASED: Venmo , suggested $25 donation, cash/trade donations accepted in person at time of event. To register, just mark “going” on the event! Walk-ins welcome, space permitting.

Recommended materials:
-water bottle (fr this style can pump up the speed and intensity, you gotta hydrate frens)
-yoga mat and/or knee pads (we are gonna get down on the floor)

I also highly recommend B***y shorts, just because they are fun! (Party City or Castle often have cheap stretchy ones)

Stephanie and Ashleigh of cannot wait to share space at with you tomorrow evening for a guided sound bath and meditation focused on the foundational spiritual principle of honesty! This is the first crucial step in leading an intentional, spiritual, connected life. And, it's a step we must consciously take over and over again in order to maintain that life. This is also our first deep-dive on this 12- month journey together on how to live spiritually.

We have also developed an entire product line that corresponds with each of these 12 principles and will have many of these items available for purchase at the event tomorrow night!! One of those products is a journal with original cover art by .a.rogers ! These mini journals will come in handy as you do the work suggested at the event!
