There are so many ways to pass out your swag and merch to your friends and family. For this sports fan we set up a “Merch Shop” that everyone could come and shop. It worked out perfectly as there was nothing left behind. The guests could select the item of their choice, in the correct size, and it was an interactive experience.

We just got back from a trip to New Orleans, such a fun city.

We toured the factory that makes the Mardi Gras floats, and it was so inspiring.

Who wants to have a Mardi Gras theme Bar/Bat Mitzvah? I’d even be excited for a Krewe ball theme.

No one was unsure of who we were celebrating at Jacobs Bar Mitzvah. This 24 ft acrylic table was wrapped in the Splitgate pattern and glowed from underneath. The 4x2 ft marquis letters were then put on top for a major statement.

It’s the tie in the pocket for me. I love watching these young teens come to the bar and bat mitzvahs. They are usually well mannered, possibly go to a private school that expects certain etiquette, or they may have participated in cotillion. It doesn’t take long before they get into the mix and all best efforts fall away. They are still just a bunch of 12-13 year old teens, out here having the time of their lives.

Event florals don’t have to be boring, or look like they belong at a wedding.

For this Cosmic Cheer theme we brought in interesting colors and textures, surrounded them in metallic and had them lit from above.

There are several layers that are required to make things POP, but it’s worth it.

Not really into the dancing and party scene?

Totally fine. How about theatre, literature, video games, science, or magicians?

We have used many different types of entertainers over the years. Sometimes they are best utilized during the adult cocktail hour, sometimes they are used to entertain the teens during dinner, or maybe they come out as a late night surprise.

However, the event unfolds, creative moments of surprise and delight is definitely one of our favorite things to do.

When the mitzvah girl is a competitive cheerleader, it’s only natural to have one of the cheerleaders from The Washington Football team surprise her as one of her dancers.

A huge introduction complete with pom poms, letter cards, hype music, and celebrity dancers.

Pro- Tip: Stying a successful event, one that flows well, looks great in person, and photographs well, it’s not something that everyone can do. It is a skill. One that is learned, finessed, and based on pure talent. Pinterest is a great starting point, but it rarely shows the whole story.

The very first vendor you should book should be your planner. They will help you allocate a budget, find a venue that is the BEST fit, and match you to qualified vendors.

So often clients book a venue first, then the vendors they liked, not really thinking strategically about how to get this done.

You need a plan, a good one, to ensure proper ex*****on.

Shout out to all the cool Moms and Dads, and those raising these kids. It’s tough out here in these streets. They may not tell you, and they may not thank you, but we hear it at every single event.

They are so excited for their party, they love all of the details, their friends are impressed. You did a great job getting them this far, and this is an event they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Custom stickers are a fun way to decorate tables, and give guests a few takeaways. Scatter these around a lounge, or on the bar, and allow guests to take them home. They look great on water bottles and binders.
