Tart Cherry Chill Pill 🍒
The New Year off to a rocky start? Sip on this natural nod. Tart cherries are a source of melatonin, a hormone that helps initiate the process of falling asleep. This can aid in a feeling of relaxation and drowsiness.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup tart cherry juice (100% pure juice)
1/4 cup ginger beer (non-alcoholic)
1/2 cup sparkling water or club soda
1-2 sprigs of fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1-2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Lime slices and additional mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Begin by muddling the fresh mint leaves. Place the mint leaves in the bottom of a glass, and gently press down on them with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their flavor.
Add the fresh lime juice and honey (or agave syrup) to the glass. Stir well to combine and dissolve the sweetener.
Fill the glass with ice cubes to your desired level.
Pour in the tart cherry juice and sparkling water or club soda. Stir gently to mix all the ingredients.
Taste the mocktail and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more honey or agave syrup.
Garnish your tart cherry and mint mocktail with a slice of lime and a sprig of fresh mint, if desired.
Serve your mocktail immediately, and enjoy the refreshing blend of tart cherry, mint, and lime flavors.
