Hi there!

I have delayed this post as long as possible (three years) but maybe it’s time:

I’m Svetlana, the one woman show at Rushing Blooms. The head designer, planner, buyer, delivery driver, bucket washer and floor sweeper.

My cozy little shop is located in the Arts District of Richmond, VA. The neighborhood that I also call home (walking to work is a huge perk)

If you’ve never been - please come visit. And bring your dog!

I work with both fresh and preserved flowers and foliage. Most of the blooms that you find in my shop are locally grown.

I am a fierce advocate of supporting local farmers. And my commitment to local growers is not just a nod to the source of my flowers but a genuine appreciation for the dedication and passion the farmers put into their craft.

I love organic, garden style, free flowing arrangements. I live for color and texture.
I absolutely despise floral foam and you will never find it in my sustainable designs.

Outside of work I’m an introverted, nature and dog lover, gardener, coffee and true crime fan, half-read books hoarder, a perfectionist in recovery and an all around classic Virgo ♍️

Fun fact: my official country of birth is a no-longer-existent USSR (it says so in the passport!)

In this workshop, you will learn the step-by-step process of creating a free-flowing,
organic-style arrangement, paying special attention to color, shape and movement.

You’ll leave this class with the basics of floral design mastered and a gorgeous centerpiece to take home and enjoy!

No experience necessary.

I almost missed the National Dog Day today!

For such an occasion I present you my two favorite girls.

Please meet my pups: Masha (husky/assie mix) and Kaia (german shepherd/total mutt mix).

Masha is about to be 6 and is super friendly, kind, extroverted and extremely intelligent except for when a ball is around. Then she becomes a dumb-dumb and only the ball exists. Her favorite pastime: running and ball. But mostly ball.

Kaia is 3 and a rescue from . She’s shy, cautious, introverted, lazy (so very lazy) and doesn’t like strangers. If you’re a short girl she might let you pet her :) but boys is a nope. Any tall human is a nope. Her favorite pastime: snuggling
