To the girl who isn’t a “bride-to-be” quite yet:
Oh, boy. I know. You’re waiting, you’re impatient, maybe worried & wondering. My heart pours out to you. I know the feeling. You see other people getting married or engaged & you’re happy for them, but it still makes part of you sad or jealous.
You want to be the bride SO. BAD. You want the wedding SO. BAD. You genuinely do want to have the best marriage SO. BAD.
But here’s the thing I need to say: your want for the man God intended for you & the timing God has for you should be EVEN MORE than all of those things above.
I know.. it’s hard to look past the wedding, the ring, and the “bride fun” that comes with getting engaged. But please, if you’re struggling with the discouragement of it not being your time yet, dedicate a few minutes each day to say a prayer like this:
“God, my heart is longing for the love you have planned for me. I want to have my dream wedding, be the bride, and marry my best friend. I pray that you send him to me, you keep his heart pure & prepared, and you humble me to be able to wait patiently with you. Work on my heart to focus on the real reason I would receive a ring and buy a dress. Help me to be the most ready I can be.”
I am not discrediting the feelings you have, but I am saying there is HOPE. So much hope. Especially when you put your future husband and the timing of it all in Gods hands.
Sincerely,
the girl who felt what you feel, prayed for years, and is now married to the love of her life 🤍
