One of my favorite wedding ceremony moments I’ve seen to date was when Kristen and Lucas combined soils from their homes into the pot of a new dogwood tree they planned to bring to their house together. It was symbolic and natural and really captured the day so well. Calum & Ashley • this was one of my favorite weddings yet because I had the pleasure of getting my bestie from college married to the love of his life! There was a kilt, a sword, cake pops, and so much love for these two. They did something I loved, too - they took a few moments through the day for just them and that is so important! A wedding day moves FAST and I really appreciated that they took time to soak it in. A little rain for good luck, a little worm on the dance floor, and a little pup down the aisle - their wedding had it all! ⚔️ •

That first walk as husband and wife 👣One of my very favorite moments at a wedding is seeing the couple come back up the aisle. The warmth, the smiles, the overwhelming happiness - it’s a sight to take in! Cousiac Manor sits an hour East of Richmond on the Pamunkey River and pictures sure don’t do it justice! It was a perfect day for some bridal portraits and a walk-through. I love getting to see venues ahead of the big day, and it’s so fun to see a before and after once the space is done up! Dancing by twinkle light on the water is going to be gorgeous! “Your love story begins in the bend of the river.”
Madison & Dillon • Their wedding was a winter, jewel-toned dream! With the most vibrant florals, complimentary dresses and linens, and personalized accents throughout, this day came together flawlessly and offered such a historic and moody backdrop. There was a group dance, wonderful speeches, and so much to celebrate. Congratulations to such a sweet couple! •

A question I’ve been getting quite often recently is what planner (notebook) I recommend! My first suggestion when planning a wedding is to of course hire a planner or coordinator, but it’s just as important to have a guidebook to sort your thoughts, wishes, and progress along the way! Unfortunately my favorite planner ever was discontinued, but I just learned they brought it back digitally! created the perfect planner and has made it available for purchase and download. This was such an aid to me during my own wedding planning journey, and I hope it helps you on yours! •

Did I take a picture of every ceiling and light fixture at ? Possibly. Are they worthy? Absolutely! The property is beyond stunning and the team has done an incredible job of turning the space into the event venue we’ve come to know and adore. Looking forward to my client’s big day here next fall! •

Maui • My husband and I had the privilege of being included in the wedding of two sweet friends in Maui last week, and my goodness it did not disappoint! I grew up in Oahu but hadn’t been to the other islands, and it was as magical and tropical as you could hope for. The did such an incredible job of helping Nick and Kelsey to showcase their vows, and I couldn’t recommend the venue enough for a destination wedding!
