Shamin Hotels Leadership Conference 2024
We had the BEST time convening in Virginia Beach for our annual event dedicated to fostering connection, collaboration, and celebration.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Virginia Beach oceanfront, it was an opportunity for our leaders to engage with one another, participate in dynamic breakout and general sessions, and gain insights from our CEO and other key leaders about future development, renovations and operational highlights.
The culmination of the two-day event was the Rooftop Cocktail Party at Sky Bar followed by the Awards Gala, a spectacular, high-energy night celebrating individual and team successes over the past year. The conference included a welcome reception and live band at Catch 31, a heartwarming community service project and a keynote address from the Wise Pineapple, as well as a vendor trade show.
A big thank you to the Hilton-Virginia Beach Oceanfront and Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel teams for their outstanding hospitality throughout the events!

This Women's History Month, let's take a moment to celebrate some of our incredible female leaders beginning with Jolisa Chandler: In November 2021, I embarked on a transformative journey with Shamin Hotels. I started at the front desk and eventually worked my way up to become the General Manager. My progression was fueled by dedication, commitment, and hard work, with Shamin guiding me to lead and inspire my team. Outside of work, I enjoy going on adventures with my family and pets. I am grateful for the opportunities and support that I have received, and I look forward to a bright future in the hospitality industry.

Congratulations to our 2021 Rookie of the Year, Brooke Bollman from Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront!
Brooke returned to the HGI family as the Assistant General Manager in February of 2021 after a couple of years away. She started her career with our property as a front desk agent in 2018 and has held several positions at Shamin Hotels.
Brooke embraces the TOP (Team Up, Own It, Passionately Serve) culture in every aspect. She collaborates with the department heads to ensure they have clear lines of communication and support and ensures everyone is set up for success. She embraced the responsibility and even through challenging times, she handled every difficulty with grace and maturity.
She is a true Rockstar and Rookie of the Year!

At Shamin Hotels, company culture is everything to us. Our team rallies behind our TOP philosophy. What does TOP stand for? Team Up, Own It, Passionately Serve. This internal motto may sound simple, but it represents our company culture and what each associate can expect from their colleagues as well as company leaders.
Erin Baker, Front Desk Manager at Hampton Inn Hull St, sat down and shared some of her thoughts about TOP culture and Shamin's company culture.
We sat down with Kenya, the Front Desk Assistant Manager at Sheraton Richmond Airport Hotel. Kenya has been with Shamin Hotels for 20 years. She began her career as a waitress and has held just about every position except for maintenance.
"The guests who come in know us by name, and we treat them like family. That's what I love the most about working for Shamin Hotels- the family atmosphere. It's not just a job. The owners of Shamin Hotels will help you outside of work. They know our families. I know it might sound cliche, but we are just one big family. I love my job," explained Kenya.
It is our associates like Kenya who make Shamin Hotels a very special place, not just for our guests, but for our teammates as well. Thank you, Kenya, for all that you do for your team at Sheraton Richmond Airport Hotel!
The Shamin Cares fund represents the very best of our company culture. Shamin Cares is an emergency fund that provides relief to our associates during times of need.
Recently when a Shamin associate experienced a devastating fire that resulted in the hospitalization of her and her children, it was important to us, as a company, to do what we could to help.
We are honored to be in a position where we can take care of our associates in times of need. Our team gives 110% to create an outstanding experience for our guests and it's important that we take care of our associates in the same way.
Shamin Hotels 2022 Awards Ceremony
Yesterday, the Shamin Hotels team was able to celebrate our 2022 Awards Ceremony in person for the first time in 2 years. The room was full of friendly, familiar faces, and laughter as we celebrated the accomplishments we’ve achieved together.
Our team is resilient and continues to go above and beyond for our guests, and we couldn’t be more proud.
