Wayne County 4-H Enrollment is Now Open

I got invited to the Wayne County 4-H Board of Directors Annual Meeting & Volunteer Appreciation Dinner that was held tonight!

It felt good to be back on our beloved fairgrounds and to see so many familiar faces that have helped me and watched me grow up in the 4-H community.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to the newly elected 4-H Board Directors:

- Dustin Thornburg
- Lex Bartlett

Y’all, I can not say enough good things about our community. The countless men and women who have put their blood, sweat, and tears into bettering our 4-H organization makes me proud to represent our great county. I can not thank you guys enough for everything you do. Just know you are appreciated.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hollingsworth family
Raymonds son Terry was a 10 year 4-H member and now is a leader for Outlaws horse and pony club Terry’s daughter also is a horse and pony member.
Raymond‘s wife Yvonne is also a vendor at the fair and has sold her jewelry there for several years and Raymond was usually there at the booth with her
 Obituary
Raymond Hollingsworth, Sr., age 72 of Richmond, Indiana, passed away on September 2, 2024. Born on December 18, 1951, in Richmond, he remained a lifelong resident of the city.

Raymond dedicated many years to the City of Richmond Street Department. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his love for hobbies, including shooting pool, throwing horseshoes, and supporting his granddaughter in her equestrian activities and sports. He also enjoyed engaging with people at his wife's jewelry booth during various fairs and festivals.

He leaves behind his wife, Yvonne; sons, Raymond (Sharon), Terry (Hellen), and Joseph (April); and grandchildren, Joseph Michael, Emma Grace, and Wyatt, and Tobias Andrew, and great granddaughter Ryley Ann. Raymond also leaves behind loving brothers, sisters, nieces,
nephews, and his special friends, Don and Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Those wishing to honor Raymond's memory can make contributions to the Animal Welfare League. His final arrangements are entrusted to Community Family Funeral Home in Richmond.

Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home, Friday, September 6, 2024, at 4:00 PM. Family and friends may visit Friday at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Send online condolences to the family via the guestbook at www.communityfamilyfh.com

Raymond will be remembered for his vibrant engagement in his community and his warm, sociable nature. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

We do work with budgets and great sponsors that make it possible

Bill Pugh is a fair committee member I was blessed to start out with. He has given 23 years of many duties here fair week.A short list is always turning on and off pole lights, moving trash cans, cleaning up fairgrounds, and most important checking icecream.I will miss that great smile.THANK YOU and Jean and your family you are awesome!
