*10 YEARS*
It’s been a busy start to the season but we can’t let spring sneak by without recognizing that April marks 10 years in business! The gratitude is overflowing and I am so proud of how much Belles + Whistles has grown.
Reflecting on the past decade, I’m celebrating *10* things I am thankful for …
1. the entrepreneurial bug, and the guts to dive in when I took this full time in 2013
2. the resilience and hard work ethic family instilled in me
3. refusal to let fear get in the way
4. the mentors in front of me that continue to support and advise
5. the MOST incredible clients that give us their trust
6. your repeated referrals
7. vendors +creatives who have our backs, enable us, and continue to inspire us
8. the industry colleagues we run with, and their shared understanding of this “magic making” work we do
9. this team, of which I’d be nothing without!

We loved working with the Deane’s for their intimate wedding ceremony in 2020 (of course, including their fur buddy Bo here), AND their epic reception when we could finally gather all their friends and family in 2021. This month they’ll celebrate 2 years! Reminiscing over all the joy we got to be a part of!

Being a professional planner in the industry, and planning my own wedding was HARD!  It is undoubtedly a labor of love, but I have to admit, I find it much easier and more enjoyable to plan for others.  😉
Bottom line – planning an event of this scale is a lot of work –don’t go at it without some pro support. Thank goodness for my incredible teammates stepping in to take the reins in the home stretch. The Belles nailed it, and this planner got to show up to her own wedding  😊 💃🏻

Alright guys… finally – onto the reception! Memorable highlights include wandering oyster shuckers giving nod to our first date, the amazing band QCB keeping our guests rocking a full dancefloor all night, toasts and the father/daughter dance. 🤍So many blissful memories we will forever cherish!

I aimed to keep the design simple and let the beauty of the outdoors take the stage. We love the mountain views and vineyard that make so special so decided we’d tent their newly remodeled patio to maximize our guests’ enjoyment of our surroundings. First up, sharing my FAVORITE part of our wedding day – the ceremony. 🤍
We lucked out with the most beautiful weather and got to share our vows nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Besides the fact that we love wine and their wonderful staff, we chose for these gorgeous views. Matt and I spend a lot of time in the mountains and just have a great feeling when we’re there. We wanted to share that with all our favorite people, escape and make a weekend of it. Afton, VA did not disappoint!
