Excited for fall? 🌻🌾 It’s about time to plant the seeds for a bountiful harvest! Here are our planting recommendations for gardening zone 7:

🍂 Peas: Sow in mid-to-late August for a tasty fall crop.

🌼 Hollyhock: Sow outdoors in late summer, and transplant into pots or garden beds before the frost arrives.

🌼 Foxglove: Start seeds in late summer and transplant into garden beds in early fall to establish roots before winter.

🍂 Broccoli: Finish starting seeds indoors for fall crops like Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and other Brassicas.

🌿 Kale: As Labor Day approaches, direct seed kohlrabi, kale, and collards.

🍂 Leaf Lettuce: Start now for a fresh, late harvest!

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our President and CEO, William “Bill” Gouldin Jr.

Bill always sought out ways to support local small business owners, Virginia educational institutions, and the independent florist and garden center community.

He deeply enjoyed every aspect of our industry from product research to ways to volunteer with flowers. We're going to miss his knowledge, passion, attention to detail, and most of all his laughter and fun nature.
