Browns BBQ Town Week 9 Varsity High School Football Player Of The Week Brother Rice High School Senior Quarterback Marcus Brown. This past Friday evening vs St Rita High School Brown helped the Crusaders to a must-win home game. Brown delivered with a big-time performance with 2 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion. Brown is a division 1 college quarterback ( committed to Butler University) , strong arm and throws a good ball, He runs with power and speed, and he is one of the most explosive players in the state of Illinois with the ball in his hand. Brown is one of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2024 and State of Illinois. Brown has been training with Greg Holcomb Next Level for the last 4 years. Greg Holcomb is one of the top QB coaches in the Midwest, he pushes out good QB's every year. Alvin Lacy from Legacy Sports have been training Brown with speed and agility since he started walking. Brown said he's all locked in now his main focus is winning a state championship (Rice haven't won a state championship since 1981). They have a big game tonight versus Batavia High School. First round of the playoffs win or go home. Big shout out to Head Coach Casey Quedenfeld and the Brother Rice varsity football coaching staff for doing a great job with the Varsity program. Browns BBQ Town Week 8 Underclassmen High School Football Player Of The Week ( Freshman or Sophomore) Brother Rice High School Sophomore Starting Safety/Backup QB Austin Mrskos. Last Thursday evening vs Montini Catholic High School Mrskos had to put down his starting safety hat and put on his starting quarterback hat because Brother Rice starting QB got hurt third play of the game. Mrskos had over 100 yards rushing, 2 rushing touchdowns and big tackles on defense to help Brother Rice High School sophomores beat Montini High School sophomores 14-13. Mrskos is one of the best all-around athletes in the class of 2026 the kid can play offense or defense. Big shout out to Head Coach Mark Klutcharch and the brother Rice sophomore football coaching staff for doing a great job with the sophomore program. My Boy Got The Sauce! Browns BBQ Town Week 7 Varsity High School Football Player Of The Week Morgan Park High School senior wide receiver Chris Durr Jr A.K.A Slim Reaper! This past Saturday evening vs Kenwood High School Durr Jr had 10 catches for 135 yards and 2 TD's 👀🥶 to help Morgan Park High School beat Kenwood High School 28-26. Slim Reaper first score came on a 62-yard reception that saw the Slim Reaper cut in and out of Kenwood's defense before finally breaking free to the end zone. On his second TD, he caught a pass across the middle and raced into the end zone for the score. Durr Jr is one of the most explosive wide receivers in the state of Illinois. University of Wyoming have a great wide receiver coming to their program. Morgan Park Head Coach CJ James and his coaching staff is doing a great job building a great culture at Morgan Park High School. Morgan Park is 6-1 and 5-0 in conference. Browns BBQ Town Week 6 Varsity High School Football Player Of The Week Hillcrest High School Junior RB/LB Erimus Wright. This past Friday vs Lemont High School Wright picks off a pass and returns it 35 yards for a touchdown minutes after scoring a touchdown on offense for Hillcrest to help the Hawks win 19-16 over Lemont High School. Last week Erimus Wright had 9 carries for 230 yards and 3 TD's ( sounds like Hawks legend Bucky stats when he was at Hillcrest). Wright is one of the most versatile skill players in the state of Illinois. 👀. Big Shout Out to Coach Kyran Weaver, Coach Tremaine Weaver and the Hillcrest coaching staff is doing a great job with the Hawks football program. Browns BBQ Town Week 6 Underclassmen High School Football Player Of The Week ( Freshman or Sophomore) Brother Rice High School freshman running back Jameson Davis. This past Saturday afternoon vs Mount Carmel High School Davis had over 100 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns to help Brother Rice High School Freshman beat Mount Carmel High School Freshman. Davis just moved to Illinois from Carolina in June and the question was how would he do in the tough CCL Blue. So far the kid is looking really good very talented. Davis is a complete running back. He runs with power, he runs with speed and he can catch out the backfield. This 2027 RB class in the state of Illinois might be the deepest RB class we have seen in a long time. A lot of big time RB's in this class and Jameson Davis A.K.A JD say I'm right in the mix. Right now Davis and his freshman teammates are 6-0 going for an undefeated season and the conference championship. Big shout out to first year Head Coach Joe Terri and the brother Rice freshman football coaching staff for doing a great job with the freshman program. My Boy Got The Sauce!
