It has been a busy summer here at ECG - Meetings & Association Management! We have been working hard onsite with our clients to put on informative, well-executed, and impactful events. Here is a look at what we have accomplished:
We hosted the Defined Contribution Real Estate Council, Inc. Quarterly Council Meeting and Product Development Session in New York City. At the council meeting we spent time planning for DCREC’s upcoming tenth anniversary and website redesign. DCREC’s Strategic Alliance committee discussed its collaboration with various partners across the industry such as NAREIM and NCREIF, among others. Secondly, at the Product Development Session, DCREC’s signature member-only conference, we addressed obstacles, challenges, and solutions to implementing real estate in defined contribution plans. Finally we hosted a farewell dinner for David Skinner, one of the founding members of DCREC, as he heads off into a well deserved retirement!
Our next event was the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) / The SPARK Institute, Inc. Public Policy Forum at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. This event kicked off with a DEI Awards Dinner which honored DEI rising stars and leaders. The next days consisted of committee board meetings and speaker series. A highlight of the conference was small group dinners around Washington, DC where attendees connected with industry colleagues!
We then assisted JLL Income Property Trust with its Due Diligence Invitational at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago. It was an information-packed two-day event covering topics such as the state of the real estate industry and investing in this asset class. Key leadership of JLLIPT spoke to attendees and provided unique insights into the industry and company as a whole. The conference concluded with a property tour.
Back in New Jersey, we put together the annual installation dinner for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers - AAML - New Jersey Chapter at the Cedar Hill Golf & Country Club. This year was a Mardi Gras themed dinner dance! The incoming Board of Managers and leadership were sworn in with speeches from outgoing President, Jeralyn Lawrence, and incoming President, Carolyn Daly. Attendees were then provided with a phenomenal dinner and music from a live jazz band!
Finally, we worked with Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association (DCIIA) on their annual Kohler Retirement Leadership Institute event at The American Club Resort in Kohler, Wisconsin. This two-day event had it all! There were various speaker and panel sessions discussing topics such as the current financial environment, opportunities for DC investors, DEI, and more.
There are so many people and teams that we have to thank for these events! To the teams at DCREC, DCIIA, JLL, AAML NJ, and ECG, thank you for working with us and allowing us to help you all put on such great events. We are energized by working alongside our fantastic clients and are looking forward to more events in the coming months!
