Coming in summer of 2021:

"Six Weeks of Summer" Flower subscription. If you would like to send a fresh vase of flowers to a resident in one of the nursing homes in Page, Warren, or Frederick Counties in Virginia, you will be able to purchase a CSA subscription and SHF Creations will deliver a vase of fresh flowers from our gardens to your friend or loved one. The following week we will switch out the vase of flowers with a new vase of freshly cut flowers. Flowers will be a mix of dahlias, zinnias, black-eyed susan, snapdragons, celosia, and other varieties as the season unfolds.

Deliveries will begin in mid-July and extend for six or eight weeks, depending on the plan one chooses.

One time deliveries will also be available to nursing homes and patients in hospitals in those three counties as flower supplies allow.

More information to be posted in the upcoming months.

Dried flower bundles are available for purchase at Valley Treasures in Woodstock, VA, or by email order. We can generally fill an order within 24 hours. Postage rates vary based upon weight and distance, but generally run $7-10. We accept checks, cash, or Paypal. Our current inventory includes: red gompnrena, bicolor gomphrena, carmine gomphrena, yellow yarrow, cockscomb (large heads), plumed celosia, Ruby Parfait celosia, and Sweet Annie.

Each bundle contains 25 stems, some with multiple flowers per stem. These are a dark purple with stems ranging from 5 to 8 inches in length. Flowers are hand picked, bundled in the garden, and then air-dried. I do not leave a lot of foliage on the stems because the leaves become too brittle for use…

Our renegade chicken has done it again--snuck off and laid a nest full of eggs and then hatched out 7 chicks. All are well and growing.

We have an abundance of farm fresh eggs available for sale right now--both brown and white eggs--at $2.50 per dozen. Our hens are fed corn, wheat, and all natural supplements with no hormones or pharmaceutical additives. If you are interested in purchasing eggs, just let us know.

SHF Creations began in early 2003 when I planted some crested celosia and airdried it. I began arranging the flowers in attempt to sell the materials I was growing and drying from my gardens. Ultimately, I expanded to fresh cut arrangements, which my brother and I sell at local farmers markets.

This year we are considering expanding further and offering weekly delivery of fresh cut arrangements to local nursing homes in Clarke, Frederick, Warren, and Page counties.
