Only 2 more weeks until it is officially spring which means we’re that much closer to summer wildflowers 🪻

When I meet with couples before they book me for their wedding, we always chat about their engagement session. I always encourage couples to do an engagement session even if they don’t think they really need the photos. Why? Because it’s a great time for us to get to know each other more and work together before their wedding day. Nerves are already going to be high on the wedding day, working with the photographer shouldn’t be something you’re worried about. Also- how fun is it to have a few photos of the two of you in more casual setting without the “pressure” of the wedding day??

We’ve gone country! 🌲
(Way before Beyoncé made it cool).

My family moved from Minneapolis to River Falls, WI last summer and we couldn’t be happier! We absolutely loved living in the city, but with little kiddos it wasn’t practical anymore. We found this incredible property on 30 beautiful acres which gives our boys lots of space to roam and learn.

River Falls is the perfect location…still close to the cities, but closer to home. I’ve been exploring and finding some incredible spots for photo sessions and I’m so excited to meet new clients and bring some of my faithful clients to some of my new favorite spots!

With that being said..I’m still taking sessions around Independence, WI and Minneapolis and now welcoming all the River Falls and Hudson locals!

We are so excited to get to know this new city and all the incredible people who live here. We’ve already heard so many great things and feel so lucky to be a part of such a great community! 🤎

I have been enjoying this slow season to spend time with my family and catch up on all the little things I don’t have time to do the rest of the year. Looking back at weddings like this one excites me for the coming season. And this beautiful, unseasonably warm weather has me itching to get back out there!

Morgan and Grant’s wedding was nothing short of incredible. They are the kindest and most welcoming couple and they threw one heck of a wedding at Croix View Farm in Osceola, WI. I’ll never stop obsessing over it!

Ps. If you think florals don’t matter in the look of your photos, you’ll probably think differently after seeing these 😍

The nostalgia of this one hit me hard! This family was moving out of their early 1900s home where they had lived for 15 years. So many memories here, including bringing their little girl home. They wanted me to capture life just as it was… morning coffee… brushing teeth together… playing on the couch… all their usual weekend routine… and capture it all in their old, beautiful home. Those little moments together that they want to remember forever.

These documentary-style sessions are where my heart is. I love capturing life as real as it is because I want you to be able to look back and remember how it REALLY was… not a posed photo where you bribed and begged your kids to smile. I want the tantrums, the shy clinging, sticky fingers and juice mustaches, real giggles, and craziness that all families are!

Happy Mother's Day 💕

I wanted to share a few photos from my first days as a mother almost 5 months ago. Looking back at these photos I had a couple thoughts. First, how is this the same 15 lb baby I just rocked to sleep? Second, I remember him being a lot cuter than this haha! 😉

It's been almost 5 months and I can't believe how much he has changed. I would never trade the baby I have today to go back to this newborn stage, but I am so thankful for the photos and videos I have of him - especially this Fresh 48 session we did in the hospital.

Oh my heart! I LOVED spending the evening taking Kelly's senior photos at her family's farm in Whitehall, Wisconsin. Having grown up on a farm, I was right at home riding in the gator, walking through pastures, crossing fences and hanging out in corn fields. I'm so happy Kelly chose to do some of her photos where she grew up. This is her identity. And it helped that the farm was incredibly beautiful!
