The Black Box was built as part of the Fox Entertainment Plaza to produce and promote local performing arts groups in the City of Arts and Innovation, and present traveling professional performances. Seating up to approximately 200 patrons in a multitude of configurations - proscenium, thrust, in-the-round, and more - the black box brings state of the art technology to the local community.

The City of Riverside is seeking submissions from qualified artist(s) to design and install a mural at The Box Promenade in 3 locations. Designs should include aspects of diversity, the natural landscape of Riverside, the local art community, and tells the story of Riverside in a dynamic way.

Under the artistic direction of UCR Faculty, Patricia “Patty” Huerta, UCR is Dancing is the culminating project of undergraduate dance major students in the Department of Dance, showcasing a variance of original dance works. The evening will feature eleven dance creations from various styles stemming from student studies in dance composition, critical dance studies, cultural influences, intimately personal, and re-imagined experiences.
