Detroit around the world!

To celebrate , I put together a chicken shawarma . No sauce here, topped with fattoush, an herby, lemony middle eastern salad.

When I say this pizza was perhaps the best pizza I’ve ever had, I’m not joking. Grilled shawarma chicken thighs mixed into the dough while rising—topped with Boursin, cheddar/Jack and the salad—this combo made it perfeeeeect!

Used my new Detroit pan from Ooni, baked off in the . My only regret was using a 9x6 pan and not the bigger 13x10 as I wanted to keep eating it!

Schnitzel with blackberry sauce and Chicago Italian Beef. Two recipes down out of what seems like 1,000 in here. is a dude I’ve been intrigued by on IG for years. Not sure why I didn’t try to make his stuff sooner. It’s all very very good!

Baked off a folded dough spread with fig preserve, stuffed with motz, salame, prosciutto, sopressata, balsamic and EVOO arugula, tomatoes, balsamic reduction and mini sweet peppers.

Friday dinner hits differently.

Long long long week—glad to be back home (quick trip to Philly early this week). Was able to cook my first steak ever on a gas grill. Shocker right??? Did a prime strip with Holy Cow on my new outdoor kitchen’s grill. Decided it needed to be jazzed up with a bit of truffle parm fries.

I just got my Fusion Flame Outdoor Kitchen delivered and built and couldn’t be happier. Why didn’t I get something like this sooner?!? The infrared sear station put an insane crust on this strip steak.

A taste of home.

just opened…a New England-style roast beef and seafood restaurant. And they opened in the same neighborhood as my first home in Tampa. Insane right? A taste of home from my former home at where my latest former home is!! Confusing eh? Ha! Fun fact- this is a duplicate of Beef and Ski in North Conway NH. Same menu, different name because we don’t ski here!

We tried a ton of things— fried scallops, fish and chips, nachos, potato skins— but I came here for the BEEF. Rare roast beef, served warm with mayo, James River BBQ Sauce and cheese. I love James River so I added extra! Not needed though because the beef is so flavorful as it is!

This was such a delight to have without booking a flight to Boston. Congrats on opening! Although I am 30 miles north of you, I’ll be back, often!
