Charter Hall at the City Market Building Charter Hall, Roanoke's premier event space is located on the 3rd floor of the City Market Building. Hosting a variety of events from Weddings to Meetings.

Charter Hall, Downtown Roanoke's premier event space atop the City Market Building offers history, flexibility, and state of the art technology, accommodating up to 500 people for meetings and 240 for formal dining. Historically, the top of the 1885 market building served as the Roanoke Opera House. The 1922 structure’s Assembly Hall was used for public gatherings and events, however, with the lac

k of complete public accessibility, the hall had gone dormant. With the 2011 top-to-bottom rehabilitation, Charter Hall is now available for leased use for special events. Conferences, musical performances, special-occasion receptions and dinners can be easily hosted in the historic assembly hall.

Afternoon all ... we will unfortunately be closed again on Thursday, August 1st. We are having the gas line to the building repaired and the fantastic crew needs a little more time to complete the job. We hope to be open on Friday. Thank you for your patience!

Please see below! While the rest of the Roanoke City Market Building will be closed, Charter Hall will be *OPEN* today for the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke Virginia weekly meeting.

Due to a main system repair, the vendors of the City Market Building are currently closed and will remain closed on Wednesday, July 31st. We anticipate being open normal hours on Thursday and some of our exterior vendors may be able to open in the evening on the 31st. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding!
