What's spookier than THREE Golden Retrievers under the age of 3!? A FOURTH! One of these isn't like the other...also, why won't these pups just look at the camera!? Also, also, Claire only worked up the courage to have one arm in and Xav literally crawled out of the attic for this picture 😂

In between welcoming a newborn and postpartum, we also had to harvest our first year of honey! As our friend, said, "It's really for the experience!" Our bees were happy, happy, happy all summer, but our second bee box was a little too new for them. We only got about 6 pounds of honey, which is roughly 11 smaller jars. It was such a great experience and we can't wait to see how our bees do next year! There's truly nothing better than raw, wildflower honey from your own flowers, on your own property.
🍯
Also, huge shoutout to our friend, Steve ! He was our honey Sherpa and we couldn't have done it without him: from checking boxes, helping us get bees, and then spinning our honey. Always thankful for what the flowers have brought into our lives! #🍯

Do I look haggard as hell? Yes. Are the dahlias (and almost all the annuals) cut down and ready to be dug? ALSO, YES. Big shoutout to grandma Shelby, , for affording me a few hours of garden work while my little toot snoozed away in the house. Now, to see how our tubers did. Last year, I wrapped all the dahlia tubers in Saran Wrap. I had some success, but I'm looking for a more efficient way to store this year. Hoping to test out a couple new methods AND host a dahlia sale of my confirmed varieties. Unfortunately, welcoming a baby during peak dahlia season didn't allow me to confirm all our varieties...which just means I'll have even more tubers for our farm this upcoming season!

Our little Claire Emerson is one month old today! Time has both flown by and gone incredibly slow. I get nothing done and yet, I'm incredibly grateful for this time filled with sweet snuggles and tantrums. Claire has been the sweetest addition to our family. She's a great sleeper, eater, and regrettably, a great pooper - I can only assume that her diapers rival that of a full grown man. She also once pooped on the floor, but I'm willing to overlook this because she's so cute. Still feels unreal to say, "I have a daughter," but I suppose that may never wear off. We love you, Claire. Cheers to one month on the outside. We love watching you grow 💕🌱💕🌱

Just two best friends. How lucky is Claire to have Matilda?! The moment I walked back into my home as a new mom, Matilda knew, and hasn't left my (or Claire's) side since. Truly, the best companion and friend. Overjoyed to think of all the years Claire will get with her (and our other golden's). A dog's love is really unmatched 💕

Our sweet, little (re: not so little) Claire Emerson Endress arrived with much gusto on Saturday, September 28th. She tipped the scales at 8lbs, 7 oz and was 20.5 inches. We are all so in love with our little gal pal and still in shock over her cheeks! What a dream. What a gift. Someone, please, pinch me.

Hiiiii, flower friends! Tonight's the night! It's our first you-pick! Here are a couple of friendly reminders for evening!
🌸
Although my husband tends to do a great job cutting the grass in our flower field and my dad's touching up the field with the w**ds around the beds, I can't recommend wearing closed-toed shoes enough!
🌸
We have bees! 20,000+ of them! They're near our flower beds, non-aggressive, and shouldn't bother you or really even be out. To be safe, if you have a bee allergy, consider bringing an inhaler or epipen. I have these onsite, but best to be safe!
🌸
It's mosquito season! We'll have bug spray out, but if that's not your thing, you may want to consider wearing long sleeves and pants.
🌸
If you have a pair of snips you'd like to bring, feel free, but they must be bleached (by me) prior to cutting in our beds.
🌸
Lastly, we're excited to see everyone! It'll be a beautiful night!

We missed Winnie's birthday (August 30th) because we were too busy celebrating our big, big boy! Winnie is our biggest lover and arguably, our biggest chaos creator! He is nonstop every single day and honestly, we adore him. He loves to snuggle, eat treats, and run wild and we hope he never stops! Happy 2nd birthday to our best boy! We love you, Winnie Woo! (Also, we don't let him eat corn cobs, but he cracked us up when he found this one!😂)

Reminding myself that just because it's been a slow start to our dahlia season, doesn't mean it's not ✨starting✨ to look like dahlia season. With the rain and adverse weather, it has been TOUGH. I planted much earlier this year and am still seeing delayed blooms. I guess this means I'm a real flower farmer now!
🌸
Despite the tough start, the dahlias are coming and we can't wait until all these blooms head out into the world.

Hi, friends! I am SO terribly sorry for the delay on this update, but we truly tried to wait it out for dahlia blooms. We've done everything imaginable to increase our dahlia production, but our field is still only about 5% open - despite planting nearly an entire month early.
🌸
If you've ever had a conversation with me, you know that above all, I value YOU and your hard earned money that you choose to spend on our farm. Although we do have flowers blooming, it would NOT have been the experience I would have wanted our you-pickers to have without the show stopping dahlias we've planted this year. Your experience means more to me than anything else.
🌸
There should be an Eventbrite email that went out to our you-pickers for tomorrow, 8/21. We need just a *little* more time to get these dahlias opening.
🌸
We hope to see you on our new date! We PROMISE it will be worth it.
🌸
Again, we are SO sorry we have to move the date. We have truly been looking forward to this event all summer. We sincerely hope we'll see you at the new date!

Our quality control agent, Matilda, let me know that these zinnias and fresh cut flowers are perfect! Her esteemed colleagues, Ramona and Winston, are still in training as they tend to want to eat flowers. We'll get there! Also, peep one of our first dahlias!

My hair may be a little wild from humidity, but look at these stunning flowers! What a big week for my little flower farm. Our first week of flower club for summer flowers started yesterday, we have flowers going out to local coffee shops TOMORROW (more to come), our flower stand is nearing completion thanks to my momma, , and even my husband said I needed more room to expand - that never happens! Wildly thankful for all these blooms and all the joy they've brought over the last year.

I grew these, I grew these, I grew these! All from a tiny, itty bitty seed! I had heard that snapdragons can be a little fickle, but I'm SO happy we decided to grow these! Summer Flower Club, it's your time to shine! These will be headed out in bouquets early this upcoming week!! Didn't sign up!? There's still time! Shoot me a DM to reserve 4 weeks of flowers or a single bouquet. We'll also have our farmstand up and running soon! Oh! And although a little hard to see, we just harvested some of our first celosia and zinnias! I'll be a celosia girlie my whole, entire life!

Went out to the dahlia field tonight to w**d a final bed and start pinching. Imagine my surprise when I grabbed a clump of w**ds only for 4 baby bunnies to pop out at me. Grabbed them, tucked them back into their nest, and moved right along. Here's to hoping their momma comes back. Always something exciting happening here!

I will never get over the ranunculus. Everything about them screams perfection, so much so that even the deer like chomping on them. Imagine my shock, and ultimate horror when I came out yesterday morning to finalize our 3rd week of Spring subscriptions, only to see a deer had found her way into my ranunculus beds. Thankfully, we're still pumping out blooms and the next week is perfect weather to keep the girls growing!

Who you marry matters. Every damn day I'm thankful I married Xavier. My life is filled with mountains of gold because of Xav. Forever thankful he's my home...and that he can talk me into keeping bees. Who would've thought my sweet, Bloomfield Hills boy would keep chickens, goldens, bunnies, kittens, a 2,000 sq ft garden, and tackle project after project after project. This life with you is sweeter than honey, but looking forward to our soon-to-be bees is making it even sweeter.
🐝
Huge thank you to our friend, , his wife, Avery, and their sweet pup, Nash, for having us out last night and showing us their set up! It was literally mesmerizing and you'd have thought I was hit with the smoke for how calm and serene I was around the bees. It was such an incredible experience and I'm SO excited to welcome our bees home to !
🐝
Life is truly as sweet as honey. Can't believe I get to live this life with you.

What a day/night/week! There is simply no better honor than standing next to one of your best, closest friends while they pledge their love and commitment to the love of their life. There is also no higher honor than being asked to manage bouquets and some of the floral decor. What a gift. Thank you, and , for loving me so much and entrusting me with such important details. Wishing you a life of all the love and happiness! We love you, we love you, we love you.

Oh, my ranunculus! They've been stressing me out since last October, BUT they're coming in! These have been such a labor of love. My first year growing ranunculus included being invaded by mice/voles and losing approximately 1,000 corms - SUCH an expensive mistake. By some miracle, I decided to hold back another 1,000 corms for Spring planting (February). My dad sat in the freezing cold with me and helped me plant every corm. Those beauties are coming up and I feel such a wave of relief knowing our subscribers will have these VERY soon.
🌸
The ranunculus are a cold-loving plant, so these temperature spikes in May have been HARD. However, these babies are 100000000% worth it. Their vase life boasts an impressive 2+ weeks with regular water change and stem maintenance. We can't wait for you to have these in your hands!

Another day, another tulip harvest! The first set of Spring subscriptions are going out today and that.was.hard. I was so worried this day may not come. After fretting all winter over the tulips and finally thinking we were ok, a deer came through and had a BIG snack! We put reinforced netting up right away and then noticed how short the stems were. Thankfully, Ashley, at had a great post on how to fix that! I ordered shade cloth and started watering tulips twice a day. Not only did we end up with beautiful stems, but beautiful blooms, too! Everyone is nestled in the cool fridge awaiting their delivery. I am so thankful for our Spring subscribers and have loved the tulips so much, I doubled way down on ordering for this upcoming year. I'm hoping to have tulips way earlier and way longer! Thank you so much for your patience! We'll see you today and tomorrow! 🌷🌷 (Also, Tilly and her tulip gang).

04/29/2024

Spring Flower Subscribers, please check your emails! Tulips are going out Tuesday and Wednesday! We need details from you though!
