My best friend didn’t have groomsmen or bridesmaids at his wedding - instead they asked each of their closest friends to participate in different ways throughout the day. One friend officiated the wedding; another friend was the ring bearer; another was in charge of little logistics, and I was charged with giving the dinner toast. It’s these little gestures that honored and recognized our friendships, but didn’t require of us to spend money on suits/dresses or take excessive amounts of obligatory group photos.

At the end of the day, do what’s best for you and your people, but don’t just do it because it’s traditional.

Chances are, your friends want to enjoy the day as much as you do. So consider removing the fluff and structure and just... eat, drink and be merry. 🥂

My Story

When I started to first discover photography, I never in a million years would have seen myself working so closely with people’s relationships. I’m actually pretty introverted. For some reason, though, the more I photographed couples, the more I fell in love with it and the more I broke out of my shell. I’m honored to have such an awesome opportunity to not only observe love, in all sorts of forms, but to also participate in people’s journey’s and adventures, making friends along the way!

As an artist I am inspired by adventure. So, right from the start of things I wanted to always incorporate adventure into what I do. After all, life isn’t some staged or perfectly executed play, it’s an adventure with twists and turns! I wanted to transfer that same mentality to every session I shoot.

I began shooting while studying cinematography at Huntington University. It only took me two years before I decided college wasn’t for me. I wanted to be my own boss, do things creatively and in my own way. So I dropped out and haven’t looked back since! That was in 2012. Shortly after I got married to a girl that I’d met in Huntington and really started to push Beanart Photography.

I’ve been blessed with phenomenal clients and amazing experiences which continue to drive me forward, more passionate than ever before. It’s exciting seeing all the new growth and opportunities from year to year.
