Chrissy Ranieri + Albert Ranieri were married last year at The Woodcliff in their amazing new outdoor tent addition. Andy Buscemi Photography and I tagged teamed the visual memories while Turner Music Productionsbrought the interactive, hype DJ skills. Arjuna Florist & Design created incredible floral displays and boutiques. Chrissy found her beautiful dress at Silk Bridal Boutique and last, the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa took care of Hair, Makeup and Cake.
This is the second Rutherford wedding that Ive had the privilege to film. Caitlin Ames and Cory Ames were the first to show me how the Rutherford's do it and I was PUMPED when I got the email from Tony Rutherford saying daughter number two has said I DO. This video took a me an extra long time, on top of the already long time they take me to complete. I've met people that felt like I had known them my whole life before… But its not often that I meet an entire family that I feel completely connected to. The Rutherford family holds an incredibly special place in my heart. Each of them treat me like Ive known them my entire life. In the few times we’ve spent time together, I have been able to be my complete, authentic self. (Horribly unprofessional and sloppy. Just kidding lol). In today's world more than ever, we have to be careful what we say and filter our words in fear of offending someone or sharing to much about ourselves. With each and every one of you, I feel like I can " just be ". For someone that has a really hard NOT, "just being".. That freedom is priceless. Each of you are your own individual self. Different and unique while all still carrying a humble down to earth, open energy.
This wedding will grab anyone that watches it. From custom song lyric speeches, to dance offs, Irish dancing, to equal amounts of laughter and tears.... Everyone goes all out like no one is watching. You can tell both sides have incredible family members, and through life, have collected friends of the same caliber.
Chrissy and Al's vows are just incredible. I cried from start to finish making this. I guess its up for debate but to me, the most amazing part of being alive in this world is diving deep into every emotion you have. Diving completely into love without fear of rejection. Being vulnerable IS more courageous than concealing your heart. Diving into joy as hard as you can and be as present as you can. Like anything amazing, joy is fleeting. It’s not the mental snap shots we recall about a moment that makes us truly remember it in its entirety. Its the feeling we had in that moment. Diving boldly into sadness and leave your ego at the door. Facing your pain and allowing yourself to feel it when it happens IS the secret to conquering it. Hiding wont eliminate. It only sets it aside to surface when you aren't expecting it. Getting to know yourself is getting to know the good and the bad. Nothing stays forever. Beauty fades and in the end, our fates are all the same. We are here to experience things. The ups and the downs. Being your true, messy, un-curated self. Cause when you find someone that loves you at your worst... you found someone that deserves to love you at your best. These vows are poetically honest. Experiencing the good and bad as a team and coming out together makes the strongest pair.
Tony Rutherford and Martha Anne... Ive said it before and I'll say it again. You did a fine job raising these girls. I recognize that not just in your girls girls themselves... but in the companions they chose. From one feeler to another…. I see you Rutherford's :) Carly Joan you on deck. Looking forward to see you all soon!
