As they have matured, the 11 Acre Studio has reached arboretum status. While the outdoor areas offer seasonal color and considerable versatility, the indoor studio is perfect for more formal photo occasions. It p

Hello My Friends,
I was faced with a challenge today, photographing family photos after all the rain and wind around the 11 Acre Studio. We managed to find a tree still holding a few colorful leaves. Even on an overcast day the colors were looking good. The river had changed and was trying to flood into the woods, so we stayed on high ground. It was fun to see the family again this year. Check out a photo from 5 years ago too.
Happy Holidays!
Steve

Hello My Friends, Fall photos are my favorites with an abundance of color to enhance the backgrounds with families and individuals, along with our pets. I have been lucky to meet some people to photograph that became friends and visit every year to chronicle their families growth and changes. It is fun watching their kids grow and become adults. Some have even chosen to enjoy the barbecue sauce I have made for years. A family I photographed yesterday have tasted it for the first time and I am looking forward to their opinions after they cook with it. Here are a few photos of the family and my Thanks to the Marvin's for continued support and my pleasure getting to see them each year. Best Wishes to them for the future!!!

Hello my Friends
I hope you are all well.
Recently I attended a press conference at SMTD. Senator Dick Durbin and US Representative Nikki Budzinski and Mayor Misty Buscher were there. I photographed them for Illinois Times Stories written by Scott Reeder.

Hello my friends, Today I was sent a link to a story with a girl, Morgan Pierce who was modeling when I was working at Horace Mann. She was my first choice at the St. Louis modeling agency and she proved to be an excellent choice. She worked well with the kids and was very photogenic to boot. In time we became friends and I photographed her at the St. Louis Botanical Gardens. Recently, she visited and we took photos in the studio and in the sun room. Not only me but others recognized how talented and attractive she is and they cast her in a movie called, "Unresolved." It opened in St. Louis, on November 9, 2022. Check it out! I am including a link to her story and her new line of products:

Hello Springfield,
Today I feel fortunate to have attended a community meeting at the Union Baptist Church on June 10, 2024. The topic being the commemoration of the 1908 Springfield, Illinois Race Riot in Abraham Lincoln's home town. I was to photograph the event so Dean Olsen would have photos to accompany his upcoming story. I was asked specifically to get photos of Teresa Haley, head of the Springfield chapter of the NAACP. The meeting was hosted by the U.S. Department of the Interior. This was an opportunity for the Biden-Harris administration to hear from Springfield residents just how to commemorate this sad event in 1908. Two attendees from Washington were Brenda Mallory and Shannon Estenoz. They both spoke to the crowd and Estenoz chaired the meeting too.
There were a great deal of Springfield residents, young and old alike, sharing their thoughts on the issue from all walks of life. It was truly uplifting to see so many come together for this honorable cause. Through out the evening I was moved to hear the lady I was sitting next to include an "Amen." I truly felt blessed to be there.
As the meeting was in it's latter hours, I was wondering if Teresa Haley would be speaking. I assumed she would be up at the podium speaking. Then Estenoz called Teresa's name to approach the microphone. Turns out the lady sitting next to me was Teresa. She was kind of small and wearing a beautiful dress, I later learned was obtained on a Mission trip to Seirra Leone, Africa. She stepped up to the Microphone and the place lit up as they responded to her words. They were commanding and garnered everyone's attention. It was pretty obvious she made the best impression of the night. This noble cause has a champion with a lot of time in to bring it home.
Thanks to Teresa and all those who took time to share their thoughts and those who came to listen.
Keep an eye out for Dean's story, it will be a moving one!

Hello My Friends,
Recently I photographed the Cannabis Cultivation Center for the June 2024 "Springfield Business Journal" and the May 30 -June 5, 2024 "Illinois Times." Even tough there was no cannabis growing, they are preparing to produce canned cannabis beverages. The photos were included in the article, "High Expectations," written by Dean Olsen.

I caught the Spoonbenders this weekend at the Springfield Art Fair, and they sounded great! The band has a CD ”Happy Hollow” named after the Illinois State Fair amusement rides locale. Pete Ramano and his band mates liked one of my photos and used it on the cover. They now have it on other merch: shirts, drink holders and stickers. Hope to do a vinyl LP version soon. That would be very cool!!! Major thanks to the Spoonbenders!
