A Relaxed, Elegant Wedding at Rockford Country Club | Rockford Wedding Photographer

There’s something special about photographing weddings right here in Rockford—and Kevin and Christin’s day was a perfect example of why I love it so much.

Their celebration was the perfect mix of timeless and laid-back, starting with a calm morning at a beautiful Airbnb overlooking the Rock River—just down the road from the Embassy Suites Rockford, one of the city’s newest downtown wedding venues. From there, we made our way to Holy Family Catholic Church for a heartfelt ceremony that honored their roots and their faith. (Fun fact: both Kevin and Christin grew up in Rockford and went to Boylan High School—so this day felt like a full-circle moment.)

After the ceremony, we headed to Rockford Country Club, one of the most scenic and refined venues in the area. The updated interiors and lush, perfectly manicured grounds made for a stunning backdrop during portraits—and their private first look down the isle behind the venue was one of the most intimate moments of the day.

Rockford Country Club offers a little bit of everything—elegant interiors, wide open views of the river and golf course, and the kind of golden hour light photographers dream of. It’s a true hidden gem for couples wanting something luxurious but down to earth. And Kevin and Christin fully leaned into that energy. Nothing was rushed. Everything felt calm and real.

As a wedding photographer based in Rockford who also works across Chicago and northern Illinois, these are the kinds of days I love documenting. Easygoing couples, beautiful local spots, and genuine emotion—that’s what it’s all about.

A Summer Wedding at Hidden Creek Estates That Had It All

Rachel and Robert's wedding day at Hidden Creek Estatesden Creek Estates was one of those rare days where everything just clicked. The weather was perfect, the energy was high, and the whole day flowed effortlessly from start to finish.

One of the biggest advantages of having a wedding at Hidden Creek Estates—especially during the summer—is how seamlessly everything can happen in one place. The spacious getting-ready areas, the beautiful outdoor ceremony space, and the inviting reception hall all work together to create a relaxed, grounded atmosphere. No travel time, no logistics to juggle—just a full day to be present, soak it all in, and celebrate.

And celebrate they did. Their guests brought all the joy, all day long. From heartfelt speeches to wild dance floor moves, the energy never dipped. A 10-foot mecha robot made a surprise appearance (yes, you read that right), and when Rachel grabbed the CO2 cannon to hype up the crowd, the room went off.

I may or may not have stuck around a little longer than planned—just couldn’t resist grabbing a few extra frames once the party hit full speed. This was one of those weddings that reminds you exactly why we do this.

Abby and Neil’s story starts the way all great fantasy tales do—with a brave rescue, an unexpected bond, and a little bit of magic. From their shared love of dogs (shoutout to Fauna!) to horror novels, gaming, and ren faire adventures, these two bring their own brand of dark academia romance to life.

Downtown Chicago gave us the perfect backdrop—intimate corners of Gilt Bar, glowing city lights along the Riverwalk—and it honestly felt like a scene straight out of the book they’re writing together. Can’t wait to tell the next chapter at Colvin House.

Hey everyone! It’s Joel, the face behind Forest City Photographs. This past year has been nothing short of incredible. From capturing the love stories of close friends on their wedding days to standing beside them as they said, “I do”—it’s been a whirlwind that I’m so grateful for.

📸 Photography has always been more than just pressing a shutter. I’m here to create images that are as unique as each couple I work with. Anyone can take a picture, but my goal is to create something real, raw, and filled with nostalgia—moments that feel like a page out of your own story.

💍 I wouldn’t be here without the support of my amazing wife, who not only second-shoots with me but pushes me to step out of my comfort zone. 2024 has been such a journey, and I’m beyond excited to see what 2025 has in store.

🌿 Tyler & Daria’s Wedding at Garver Feed Mill 🌿

Some weddings are just about showing up and capturing moments, but this one? It was about capturing history, friendship, and the story of two incredible people. Tyler and Daria’s wedding at Madison’s Garver Feed Mill was a day filled with beauty, laughter, and the kind of personal details that made it unforgettable.

Alongside my dear friend Erik Anderson, who shot this day with me, I had the privilege of capturing moments that were especially meaningful. This wasn’t just any wedding for either of us—Tyler is like family, and being part of his day meant standing by his side as his best man, capturing moments behind the lens, and watching my wife, Nicole, officiate the ceremony. Oh, and yes, I even guest DJ’d one song to keep things lively! Sharing this day with friends, in more ways than one, was truly special.

Tyler and I first connected over Instagram years ago and quickly became close over a shared vision of community and big dreams for Rockford, IL. We even started a campaign to give Rockford a flag we could be proud of. That journey taught us a lot about resilience and taking action. Through all of it, we shared laughter and hard work that deepened our friendship.

Fast forward, and I remember Tyler first mentioning Daria back in college. There was something different in his voice, something that told me she was special. Tyler isn’t one to talk about relationships often, but with Daria, it was clear she’d changed his world. And I always picture that first look across the room where Daria, seeing Tyler’s signature cargo shorts, crocs, and graphic tee, thought, “This is the guy I’m going to marry.” She wasn’t wrong.

Their wedding day was every bit as unique and thoughtful as they are. Daria looked stunning in her dress, surrounded by her bridesmaids in , and Tyler was dapper as ever in a suit from . The ceremony and reception spaces at Garver Feed Mill were beautifully coordinated by , with DIY florals and favors adding those personal touches. Daria, being an artist, photographer, and graphic designer herself, has a natural eye for detail, and it showed in every part of their day. gave Daria and her bridal party fresh, natural looks that perfectly fit the warm tones of mustard, rust, burgundy, and purple. kept the energy high, and ’s cake was just one of many highlights guests enjoyed.

Together with Erik, I captured moments that celebrated not only Tyler and Daria’s journey but our journey together as friends. Tyler and Daria, thank you for letting me be part of your story in such an unforgettable way. Here’s to a life filled with love, passion, and endless creativity.

What a beautiful celebration for Jordan and Michael, two incredibly talented wedding vendors themselves. Starting the day at Embassy Suites, The Nordloft Center,and ending the night at the Rockford Art Museum, the day was filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. We were honored to work alongside local vendors like Capstone Occasions, Lux Productions, Event Floral, and Abreo, who helped bring this amazing day to life. Adam & Juliana | Hidden Creek Estates

Last week was an absolute dream of photographing Adam and Julianna's beautiful wedding at Hidden Creek Estates. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, setting the scene for a day full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

From the morning prep to the sunset photos, the entire day flowed seamlessly. Adam and his groomsmen got ready around noon, while Juliana and her bridesmaids started their glam early in the day. The ceremony and reception were both at the stunning Hidden Creek Estates, making it easy for everyone to fully enjoy the day without worrying about travel.

The first look was such a sweet and intimate moment. The toasts were emotional and heartfelt, bringing both laughter and tears. Adam and Juliana’s first dance led into a lovely cake cutting, followed by gorgeous sunset photos during golden hour.

The day was beautifully coordinated by Tara, and the vendor team was top-notch. Bridal glam was done by The Bridal Glam Group, flowers were from Event Floral, Indulge Pastries created the cake, and Greenfire handled the catering. DJ Felix Entertainment kept the party going, and we were honored to handle the videography.

One of my favorite moments was capturing the golden sunset photos as the day came to an end. Adam and Juliana, your joy radiated throughout the day, and it was an honor to be part of such a special occasion.
